hopefully current users can share their experience.

I'm considering getting S24 Ultra or S24+. Coming off OnePlus Nord but have held ROG Phone 8 previously.

I find ROG Phone 8 is heavy and big.
I'm aware that S24 Ultra is roughly the same size & weight but leaning towards this as it's got SD8

I like S24+ as it's smaller size, but worried because of the Exynos processor.

Given the looming S25 release, would it makes sense to wait for this?

No rush and can wait. Probably also wait if there is a good Black Friday deal

Get the Snapdragon if I were you. Get the S24U if the price is too good to miss otherwise I'd hold off for the S24U. [Update: I meant S25U].

Thanks, how do you find the size/weight?

Do you just get used to it? I'm hanging on blackfriday/boxing day sale or otherwise wait for S25.

I do find the ROG Phone is heavy (225g) and S24 Ultra is about the same (232g) so wondering whether you just get used to it or not.

My daily is the S23U. I also have a case on it with a card holder. All that weight isn't an issue for me personally. It does feel bulky when I have it in my pockets though in summer. Otherwise I'm used to it.

It'd be a similar experience with the S24U.

Thanks for your reply. I'm back to OnePlus Nord as the ROG Phone was smashed and got the insurance replacement so can explore on other options.

I find the ROG is quite heavy when held with one hand, with Nord, it's quite light.

I probably going to wait to see if S25+ use SD8 or not, otherwise probably go for S24U

Personally, I've had the past few generations of S Ultras, so size and weight isn't an issue for me to get used to.

The phones you have and had have rounded corners, you'll need to get used to the sharp squared off corners of the S24U, which pushes into the palm of your hand.

If you are going with S25U then no issues there since the rumors suggest the design is going back to rounded corners again.

Ah, good point for the rounded vs squared corner.

I'll go to a store and try it out myself first then and compare with what I have.

The renders I saw suggest an even starker edge, evolving the S24U aesthetic further, rather than going back to more rounded.  I guess we won't know for sure until Samsung leaks their own info ahead of an event.  Personally I much prefer the squarer chassis and display edges.

What do you all most look forward to in OneUI 7 update that's coming early next year?

For me personally it's the new battery icon design where the percentage is finally inside the icon.

How do you access the downloaded app on a S24 Ultra? Once upon a time you just swiped up from the bottom of the home screen and there they were. Not any more.

The advice I see with a Google search says

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to the More tab
  3. Scroll down.....

Trouble is there is no More tab that I can see. Perhaps there is a step missing between steps 1 and 2 taking you to something that has a More setting.

There's an app that has gone missing from one of the Home screens, it's listed among the apps when you got to

  1. Open Settings
  2. Scroll down to and open Apps

but there's no way I can see of to put it back on a Home screen.
