Maybe not a S8 specific question, but in the Samsung message app when I send want to a txt to a number of people (in my case 19, its the parents of my football team) the Samsung message app converts the message (even before I start typing) into an MMS.  Is there a way to stop this?  I know I could use another messaging apps (I know Chomp/Textra all works fine), but I would rather use the default messaging app.

Damager:

Good stuff. I use my 8plus until it's completely flat . Current charge is at 31 hours with 5hours 55 mins screen time. 11%left at approx 2 hours.

Where did you get your DBrand backing from?

Just from the dbrand website, took about 8 or 9 days to get here.

I did get 2 and the first one (which was the skin i liked the most) did not go on right (my own fault, first time doing it).  So ripped that off and used the 2nd one which is perfect :)

If we are suggesting alternative SMS apps, try Google Messages. I switched to it from Handcent, partly because of ads but mainly because of GM supporting Android Wear. It is a simple, but well featured app. I have had to switch back to the Samsung sms though because it supports the Gear S3.

Is anyone still waiting for their 256 GB SD card? I pre-ordered through Noel Leeming and when I last checked with them they had 120 on back order with Samsung. From what I can gather, Samsung didn't inform retailers that the pre-order 'while stocks last' numbers had run out. Not necessarily a bad problem for Samsung to have, selling more phones than anticipated. Glad to see it is still being honoured, with no attempt to weasel out of it. I, for one, got the salesman to annotate on the receipt that it included the SD card.

I've got the convertible charger/stand pad on my desk.

I've noticed that sometimes when I put the phone on it, it just goes to "charging" and that if I then pick up the phone and put it down on the pad again, it goes to "Fast Charging" which is around an hour faster.

Is that normal? Why does it not just go to fast by default?

My contacts are often defaulting to "assistant" so even my wife, I have an extra click to dial her number.

You have to get it right in the middle, also can something depends on the case.  A couple of my bigger cases have issues if it is off center.  Not much of an issue with thinner case or naked phones.

I have cheap Aliexpress chargers which work well but don't fast charge. I made lego frames for them as I can't afford a 3d printer. I just literally throw the phone at the lego frame and it is guaranteed to sit in the right place for charging. As it is on the wireless overnight I don't need to worry about fast charging.

XSA is getting a firmware upgrade right now (currently downloading).  Improvements to SD cards and updated security by the looks of it.

I also waited the 256Gb SD card, and noelleeming don't have exact explanations with regards to the sdcard. Initially when pick-up, they told me that it's on the box but when opened there was none. On the next day, salesman told me that they run out of it as already sold the stock (what?), then contacted them again but no avail for the main reason.

But in terms of the phone very impressed about it: nice camera, display is superb and very responsive.
