I'm on Spark, my  plan doesn't include the satellite coverage, but the options are all still there for me. I updated my S25U thursday evening and everything has been generally fine. None of the new features particularly apply to my use-case but it seems pretty "swish" overall in general.

It does seem they've prioritised One UI 8.5 over the May security update as  my Samsung A54 which is still on One UI 8.0, just got the May 2026 security update today.

I assume the S25 will get it later this month. I'm certainly being overly pedantic but it feels like in 2026 it should be easy to bundle the latest security updates in as they rollout One UI updates. I guess its just a quirk of how Android works and what Samsung have confidence in testing / pushing out.

Linux:

TeaLeaf:

I like some of the easy access editing features of Google Photos, but still find SnapSeed easy enough to use.

@TeaLeaf Was this posted in the correct place? no idea what this is in relation to

apologies, I left out "in comparison to 8.5 photo assist updates" :-), was in relation to Photo Assist changes in 8.5. Was only commenting on Google Photos edit features as I hadnt used the 10yr Anniversary update of Google Photos and AI added to Galaxy last year, as I stick with LightRoom and SnapSeed.

However the Galaxy Photo Assist changes in 8.5 seem to be laying a foundation for the AI tools.

Hey team - I've since traded in my base S25, if anyone's keen on these two cases - grab it off me FOC, just pay for shipping?

That'd be right, with tomorrow being September. Two weeks later than previous updates. Better late than never!  🤣
