NikT:
when EMUI 10 lands.
Do you know when? and can we expect it on Mate 20 pro as well or is it reserved for the new devices?

That comment was specifically with regard to battery percentage on the always-on display, rather than the standard one in the status bar.
Ah, right. Thanks. I don't use always-on so I hadn't noticed. I look at my wristwatch if I want to know what time it is.

I really want to get the GT Watch from Huawei and don't want to order it from Australia or overseas.
Not sure why Huawei does not sell them here in NZ? I have seen them being used in Aus a lot and they are nice.

I love the sound of the watch from the write up. But I'm torn. All of my other fitness devices are Garmin. My dog wears a Fitbark which is only compatible with Fitbit, Jawbone, and Google Fit. I'll probably not go Huawei for now but I'm not in a hurry anyway.
I've had the phone a couple of weeks now and really liking it. There's probably a lot more I could do with it that I haven't found yet. Battery life is excellent - I did a day trip where I used it for maps (4 hours), calls (about an hour), a game (about an hour all up), messaging, general browsing, a couple of hours of music. 14 hours later I still had a third left. Nice to leave home without a charger!
Created a discussion for the Huawei Watch GT here.

One of the complaints I had about the Mate 20 Pro - and indeed, EMUI 9 in general - was the inconsistent shapes of system icons vs. third party apps. Very pleased to see this has been fixed in EMUI 9.1 on the newly-announced P30 series. I am hopeful that installing a P30 theme on the Mate 20 Pro will fix this for the Mate too.

Based purely on past precedent, I would expect Huawei's next major EMUI version to launch alongside the next Mate and become available for the previous (presently current) Mate somewhere around the end of December. No such version has yet been announced, it's just assumed. Historically the point-one releases from the P-series have not always made it to the Mates.

As I mentioned in a previous comment, it wasn't a feature I had a lot of use for in years past. Once you toss in a large, aesthetically pleasing, easy-to-read clock and icons for third party notifications, it can become indispensible. Without those it's not particularly useful, although I find it easier during marathon meetings to stealthily glance at my phone on a table rather than conspicuously look at my watch.

I agree, notifications on the AoD would be useful. I'm just more of the mindset that the subtle pulsing green light is easier to ignore until I'm ready to deal with it. As for marathon meetings, I find a pointed glare at my watch usually does wonders for moving things along.
