I order my S22u from Samsung directly and the YT premium was part of their offer.

I basically followed these instructions:

Open the YouTube app on your Samsung Galaxy device. Go to your account / profile and log in or create an account. Tap GET YOUTUBE PREMIUM. Select TRY IT FREE, complete sign up, and start streaming. Terms & conditions apply .

The Samsung offer was there available for me,  no need to enter a code or anything.

I didn't get any Samsung offer and it's only given me a month. I am in chat with them now.

Is anyone else still waiting on their vanilla s22 256gb, I ordered a day after the announcement. The s22 range must be selling like hotcakes.

Does anyone know of a Nz supplier for the Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro (Galaxy S22+) please?

I've seen PB tech have got the tab sizes but not found the new ones for the S22 series.

Thank you

Supcase makes good cases, got one for my S20U and used it for Oneplus 6T few years ago however don't think it's as well known as UAG, Lifeproof or Otterbox here in NZ so you are unlikely to find NZ stockists for these.

Maybe check out the mobile accessories stand in the middle of shopping malls, maybe they might sell them.

I ordered my S22 through the Samsung EPP store to take advantage of the free leather case.

I received the parcel without any leather case. Samsung support advised that I hadn't added the free case
to my cart and now there was nothing they could do about it.

Absolutely my fault for missing the fact that I needed to add it to the cart, but just another
example of Samsung store support not being any help.

Oof, count yourself lucky, I got mine changed to add the free leather case (black s22+) and it's not going to ship till the 17th of march (so far)

I'd rather receive the phone any day than not to receive anything at all for my pre-order on 17 Feb so far and just got a belated generic email to say it's been delayed with no ETA provided.

Free lousy case not worth as the pre-order 'bonus'

S22U:  Opinions/recommendations on screen resolution?

How much does WQHD+ vs FHD+ impact battery performance?

In previous generations (S4 to S20) made little to no difference whatsoever from people who tested

Explanation - if you are just seeing the screen then all pixels will be lit regardless of resolution, battery drain then is a function of brightness - white screen vs black screen vs brightness setting etc

Having said that it should make a difference if you are rendering graphics on the go, eg if you render a game on 1080p 25 fps it should use less CPU & GPU battery than rendering 1440p at 120 fps for example, but only if the game actually renders at those fps. chances are if the game is not optimized it would render 1080p at 300fps and when you switch to 1440p it renders at 120fps for example, and in doing so if both are maxing out CPU and GPU then you see no difference as well

Coming from my phone i could either have 1080p at 120hz or 1440p at 60hz that forced you to have a choice. for this one i'd go whatever you feel like. if 1440p gives you 1-120hz i'd choose that but if 1-120hz only available on 1080p then ... i might just stick with 1080p. my eyesight is terrible can't tell difference between 720p and 1440p on the 6.8"

Does the free case show up in your order status on the EPP portal?

Are you sure they just didn't split the order? I was told mine will be split, i.e phone delivered first and then cover once it arrives.

Thanks.  Won't be any gaming!  Biggest battery drain for me is normally viewing web pages, predominantly news sites etc.  Car navigation is of course a lot worse but that is only intermittent use and would normally be plugged into power at the time.

Have yet to move my sim into the new phone (waiting for case to arrive before full switch over) but have spent some time viewing news sites over wifi, initially at the default FHD+ resolution.  Switched to WQHD+ yesterday and no, drain on battery has not been obviously any worse (a bit disappointing either way!  But I knew from prior reviews that would be the case 😞)

Had my S22 for a couple of days now, first impressions are great, nice upgrade from my S10e, good to keep a compact size.

I got the official Samsung Silicone case free with my order, but I found it too slim / not much protection.
So I purchased the Incipio Duo case from Noel Leeming (who had stock), feels nice in the hand, good protection.
Previously had an Incipio Duo case on my S10e.

Plus installed a Zagg InvisibleShield Fusion xtr hybrid screen protector, also from Noel Leeming.
Wasn't planning on spending that much on a screen protector, but luckily my Farmlands card gets an approx 30% discount on both the case and protector.

Originally planned on getting the Spigen glass protector from PB Tech, but a review on PB Tech (and other online reviews) suggest the fingerprint scanner didn't function well.

With the Zagg protector my fingerprint works 99.9% of the time, only time it didn't work was if I was touching in the wrong spot, or had a dirty thumb/finger.
Haven't had to turn up touch sensitivity either.

Just thought I'd post in case anyone else was thinking about screen protectors or cases.

@snowfly - I looked at that screen protector as well but thought $60 was a bit steep!

Does it get scratched easy?

I have a hydrogel one which feels nice, fingerprint works perfect but obviously lot less protection than the glass.
