Im having bad battery use on both my note 3 and note 4 recently. As snapchat is retarded I can only be logged in on one phone at a time, so took it off the other one. No change to crap battery life. The battery monitor I installed showed lots of usage for something that is to do with the acceleromter service on one of them (Cant recall which phone) - over 400 apps is making me think that its time to factory restore it and only install what I actually use on them.

Well, what do you know. Loaded this Taiwan rom with very little magic trick.

If you want it uploaded to mega let me know. And how to load it on to your phone.

EDIT: This DOES NOT trip knox.

As per reddit, https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS6/comments/35zshn/howto_fix_a_failed_odin_flash_softbrick_hiddenimg/

One needs to copy and paste elsewhere the unzipped rom, and delete the md5 extension, to produce a tar,

Then you can un rar it (I couldn't get it working right with 7zip, can with winrar), and rename the hidden.img to hidden.img.tar

So basically, load the firmware with odin (in download mode), it will fail on hidden.img, don't panic. Pull batt, put in download mode again, flash the said hidden img file.

Now the phone should boot as normal and should be a few files to update.

This still hasn't update the 'baseband' get the device in download mode again, and flash the modem in 'cp' field, as is (no need to rename).

Your modem is then updated. No issues running on Vodafone, I'm rocking a U from Spark though. I'm uploading the split files to mega when I can, on process now.

It's the Taiwan one right up top http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N910U/

I have the Voda update installed. Only noticed a different Battery settings page so far. Can't explore it yet, although I don't expect much flash from stock Samsung, as it's still "learning" my battery usage.

Yeah I don't want to succumb to a placebo/anectodal/whatever evaluation but phone feels faster for me too. I do run way too many apps and services for my own good, although I have been dissapointed with performance often (after that fresh out of the box performance wore off). Only one day in but it's possibly performing better.

This is great news! Downloading now. Was hoping it wouldn't be far off considering Canada got it last week and we're usually not that far behind therm.

Actually I am pretty sure the multitask button is faster (menu button that brings up open tasks). I also use the hold the back button to bring up the windows apps but that isn't faster at all... the Battery stuff is differnt like I said before and there is a new Smart Manager app which seems to be Samsungs attempt at a "cleaning" app.

Feels SO much faster for me and as an added bonus ............ BBC iPlayer is streaming live again! Great to jump on at lunchtime and see what is going on in Europe.

Happy Chappy once again ............ but wondering about Marshmallow now lol. Guess that is asking too much.
