For those who have brought one a quick question.

If you hold the tablet flat screen up with one hand (at bottom), and use your other hand to tap in the corner of the tablet where the camera is, do you hear a rattle? (can also be heard if you place it down on something)

I'm trying to work out if it's a common problem.

I bought my wife for her birthday the Nexus 7 Mk1 .   A couple of days after it was shipped they bought out the Mk2 model.   She envies you :-)

My htc one x did that and it turned out it was the camera focusy thing, was normal but annoying.

I'm gonna skip this and get the 8.9 HDX Amazon tablet, and pray that they hack it for Google Play Store.

I've had mine for just over a fortnight now. Feels very intuitive, and I love the fact it basically looks identical to my phone and has the same access.
The 4G works well and I've basically used it to watch movies and tv when I'm on the road. Does anyone know how to install a Vodafone app onto it for data use? I use the built in data usage counter, but it would be nice to have the Vodafone one. I've put the sim into a phone and obtained the access code, however the app is flat out incompatible. I guess it's coming.

I'm not sure if the Vodafone can cope with having two numbers associated with one account either, as it said that I need to call 777 when I finished installing it.

Other than that I love it. The stock media player doesn't play much, but VLC cured that. Battery is impressive, I was getting more than 7 hours out of it. In fact I didn't charge it while I was away last week.

And user profiles are brilliant so I can hand it over to a mate without him trawling through my facebook messages etc. I was initially a bit reserved about the rubber backing compared to my iPad, but I actually prefer it, it's much easier to hold in one hand (I have a full size iPad, but was thinking more about a mini).

Nexus 7's are like $99 or $199 in the US. Why do we pay such ridiculous prices for them?!

I think you will find they are not that cheap at all.
A you may be able to hunt around and get last years 16gb for around the $100 mark.

But the 2013 models are $269 for the 32gb and $229 for the 16.

maybe these prices are for the 3G ones, subsidized by a carrier with included SIM?
