That's why. You need to unroot before any otas usually. Its fixable though

The only fixes I've read about are for those with TWRP installed, for which I am not one of them..

just installed the ota update for my parallal imported G2 (with SEA firmware)

not too sure what is changed but noticed 4g is now turned on by default yay!!

If you want to use anything with telecom's 4g ... good luck unless you bought it from telecom itself ...i can't say for 2d as it is not live yet. Vodafone should be fine.

Kopkiwi: I've had one for about 2 weeks now and absolutely love it. The screen is brilliant, the camera the best on a phone outside of the Nokia beasts. Fast, quick, fluid. Great battery life. Recommend a case though as it can be a little slippery.

I got mine from einfotech.

Interesting....as the Nexus 5 isn't similar spec and the opposite of slippery. The rubbery back almost sticks to my fingers. The Nexus 4 was slippery. I'd put it down on a flat surface...and the micro cushion of air under the thing could see it float right off the bed side table and onto the carpet.

My Nexus 5 (bought from Digital Imports in Albany) works great on Telecom LTE.

Mine is from Parallel Imported.. and works no problem with Telecom 4G :) (haven't try other network yet)

Just did the same update, checked network settings and the LTE option was now available :)

Have also spent the holidays snapping away in beautiful weather and have had some good feedback on picture quality. HDR producing good results as far as "point and shoot" goes.

hey so i purchased a sprint (LS980) g2 from the states and want to use it in nz....

ive been spiked because i was happily using it this morning, then received a notification from sprint to update the device, and stupidly i thought it didnt matter since it wasnt OTA, not connected to any network etc.

then the phone reboots in twrp... which i have no clue how to use, thankfully there was a back up, and i backed it up again... but then i fiddled around and tried to restart it a few times now the backups have disappeared.

i am wondering whether i have bricked it or need to go back to the factory settings. i have no idea how to do this... ive been to three shops in mount albert and none of them had any idea what to do..

so i am left with scowering forums like xda-developers, which is really good mind you but no success yet.

does anyone know how to escape the twrp menu??

i know it's too late to go back now, i mean the phone still works in twrp... but what to do next??

You're going to have to reflash the stock ROM. TWRP has a reboot system option (It should be the first option), but if that's kicking you back to the recovery mode & there's no backups, reflashing is necessary. This looks like the XDA thread you want. Read everything carefully.

The Sprint variant is not well suited to use in NZ, as it only supports UMTS/3G on 2100MHz.

Right, so after all the research, I have now purchased the LG G2 and am loving it...! The power of 2GB RAM and a Quadcore PC can be felt straightaway. The screen looks and feels great. The camera is nice as well in whatever little I have used it for. I got it for $719 from Parallel Imported on the Boxing Day and I think that it was a good deal. Worth the spend.

My problems - the accessories are super expensive and not many options available. I am still not used to the buttons being at the back... Charging the phone with a USB cable is no longer feasible (though this is not exactly a G2 problem).

I will add more details in a few more days...!
