17th April is the slated release date in NZ.
Should be interesting to see if they make it 20% off like last time or not..

Purely speculating here but it looks like Vodafone Australia is getting the 2.5GHz variant which supports the 700MHz FDD LTE so probably be a safe bet NZ is getting the same one?

Is that 32GB or 16GB ?

Just called Telecom and pre-ordered mine now.. they say it will be shipping on 11th April.

I ended up going to S4, I've always had Samsung from the original S to S3, was going for the S4 but saw M7 had metallic chassis.

I went to S4 mainly because of no expandable memory which I thought wasn't a problem for me at the time and the LED notification hidden underneath the speaker grill was too small, I would miss the LED flashing sometimes.

I saw on one of the M8 video review the LED notification at work, much bigger and easier to notice.

Well I have to sign a 2 year contract for that so it's win win for everyone. I am concerned how much bigger the S5 is, the S4 is already stupidly big. 160 grams as well.

Well now that Telecom have released their prices, just waiting on Vodafone now. Unfortunately, even though I am a long time 2degrees prepaid customer, the lack of 4G in Wellington until at least the end of the year means they are ruled out.

If I have to choose between the SGS 5 and the M8 or Mate as I call it I would go for the Mate it looks like an all round better fone..

I may to have rethink about the M8 as I just found out that even with the micro SD slot, not only does it not have a built in file manager but also it's not able to transfer files between the card and internal memory without needing to plug into a PC to do the transfer. This would be a huge inconvenience for me.

I'm no expert, but the camera on the M8 seems somewhat inferior to that of the S5 and the Z2.

I am coming from an S3, so either of the three phones would be an upgrade.

I like the look of the M8, but it's not necessarily about aesthetics.

As someone who uses the camera on my phone a lot, my preference in that regard would be towards the S5 or Z2 - in addition to the points networkn has made.

Great that they are all being released at around the same time, gives you a chance to compare one against the other in the shop before making a decision.
