Anyway, there are heaps of products available out there where you can spray silicone on the phone to make it waterproof like moto X.

Notwithstanding what I said above I have just seen a couple of images of the S6 that look a little 'fruity'. Particularly the edges and corners. Can you argue it has been done to 'feel right in your hand' rather than to copy someone else?

The advantage that the S series usually has over the HTC M series isn't so apparent this year. Real life testing should make it clear within a month of being released. If a 30% reduction in power consumption really comes to be then the slightly smaller battery capacity will hardly be noticed. With wireless charging, is Samsung banking on the ubiquity of wireless charging pads out in the real world? Many places only just seem to have offered 5V device charging via USB. And that's another point I guess. What kind of charger is included with the phone? Am I going to have to fork out for a charging pad?

I believe IKEA have just announced that they are embedding wireless charging into a number of their furniture items. Obviously that means you have to have IKEA furniture...

Ikea here is too expensive to bother with, it comes from AU and is marked up crazy amounts by the importers. I find that the qi ones I have got are too slow to be any real use. The note 4 has the quallcom quickcharge 2 which really does help, and I am expecting thats where they get the numbers for the S6 charge time, but unless they can deliver that over wireless it becomes only viable for the overnight charge, not the topups in the car between places etc.

Also, I really would like a powerbank that supports it too.

TV1 News ran a thinly-disguised infomercial for the Samsung Galaxy S6 tonight on prime-time TV - is this a new low for a "light entertainment" news broadcaster?  undecided

Extreme product placement?

Can't  say I'm surprised, disappointed a bit but understand they needed to do something different. Agree with Networkn this debacle about build quality is complete rubbish.

Problem I have is I want both re-movable battery and also ext SD, especially given the tiny battery it now has thats just crazy.

The camera will be good as it always is and I like that they cut bloat. The S6 looks like an Iphone except wider which also sucks as i wouldn't want folks to think I was using one.

Saw a price on one site which suggested 650 pounds and 840 for the edge which prices it out of market for me if it is.

I'll mull over both of them as i want a new phone (don't need one) but I think I'll move up to Note 4 as I can get used to the size but not to having no ext sd or removable battery.

There are no real other choices for me when I look at what is on offer from other manufacturers.

So stop watching it. Eventually as the retirement homes clear out they will run out of viewers to sell to their customers and the product will be no more. If you watch and dont like it, then you are still watching it so still of value to them.

All the news is just press releases and politics dressed up as information.

mrgsm021: Good on Samsung for a completely new revamped design to include more premium metal and glass materials but the lack of micro SD expansion is a deal breaker for me.

Agree totally. Last year, Samsung gave us an ugly plastic phone. This year, they have nailed design and quality... but at what price? Surely there is a middle ground?
