coffeebaron: I wonder if they will make a Windows Phone variant :)

The rumours I've been reading say "yes".

joker97: a full oversized segment on prime time news tv yesterday for samsung and not one milisecond for this ... poor HTC

As a One owner I wish I had a dollar for every time I was asked if my phone was a Samsung (even though it has 'HTC' written on the front).

Not only Prime News but One News as well including Gadget Guy John Buckley.

In the end it's fine. The less hype associated with the M9 the more likely I am able to pick one up in the QB sales. The S6 seems to be a good handset but if past years are anything to go by the M9 will be available at a discount long before the S6.

I bet car manufacturers would love a news segment every time they release a new model.

NikT: The M9 cometh: https://twitter.com/vodafoneNZ/status/573594331652579328

Hey Nik, thanks for this...just a small point though - when I click the link in that status update, it takes me to a page where I'm confronted with a Galaxy S6! Granted the HTC One M9 is further down the same page, but couldn't you have anchors in the page, and post links to those, so that when I click for more information about the M9, I'm actually SHOWN an M9?

Cheers

You're quite right, and that would ideally be the case - It takes time to get that in place, though, better to get it on the page now than wait next week.

Sure, if you say so. It's just HTML.

Expect a fair few confused customers/potential customers though.

According to Spark NZ they will be on offering April:

Hopefully we'll see Microsoft delivery something that addresses long standing issues with Windows Phone with Windows 10 Mobile because the HTC One M9 and Android 5 is becoming more tempting the more they procrastinate.

I will be in Sydney next week attending the HTC M9 event there (Tuesday 5:30pm). Interesting to see they doing things this time.

At these regional events do they announce carrier availability - maybe get some representatives from carriers to do the usual public, "we're backing HTC 100%" kind of deal?

Yes. Let's see how it goes. We know NZ operators will have this, obviously but hoping for more specifics for local market.

And since they have just announced a 64GB version available in Taiwan, whether they will be available here as well. Going by previous experience I would say not.
