MikeAqua: So what was the trigger for the offending sound?  Was it battery 100% or wireless charger detected or .... ?

I still get one beep and illuminate when I first put the phone on the charger (as you would expect) and one more when the phone is 100% charged, which is no drama.

MikeAqua: I've only just got 4.4.2for my S4 :)

One thing I noticed, prior to upgrade the phone would frequently notify/beep when charging wirelessly on my s-pad (a common issue with no fix).  This problem has disappeared since the upgrade to 4.4.2.

My device is rooted, I deleted the offending sound ;)

Anything that made a noise - starting wireless charge, charge finished. I also removed the speaker from my wireless charger.

Updated my Nexus 7 (2012) to 5.1 and rooted it using the Wugfresh Toolkit on XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766475

I tried the "no wipe mode" for the first time and have had no problems.  A big improvement in performance so far.

Been running 5.1 for nearly a week. I dirty flashed from 5.02. The first day on it i had great battery life, ever since then its back to barely making it through the work day. 5.1 hasn't fixed the memory leak either, google has since patched it but we have to wait for 5.1.1 (which there is no date for)

Where is the leak? It may be a specific app.

I saw on a Android forum the other week that the Facebook app was the offender.

My TF101 now running 5.1 courtesy of KatKiss rom. Seems okay, but the venerable old Transformer isn't one of my primary devices anymore so it doesn't exactly get pushed very hard. The developer, Timduru, has finally got the Bluetooth working in the latest version as well.
Nice to hang out over the 'bleeding edge' with a device that doesn't really matter.

not yet - but as I understand it, the memory leak discussed above is only present in the Nexus 5.

My wife's Nexus 7 , 2012 model got the update at the weekend.  Wow  what an improvement to performance.  Nearly back  to what it was like when new.  The only issue she has and has had since Lollipop arrived is that the NZ Herald  app was a dog, need to clear cache out every day or two.  I uninstalled it but can't find it in the app store any more only the NZ Herald RSS feed app..  Installed that but not as good as the original..

Offtopic: I just use Google News now and it links to the mobile versions of Stuff/NZHerald etc.  I don't bother with "News Apps" anymore.

Audiophiles are such twits! They buy such pointless stuff: Gold plated cables, $2000 power cords. Idiots.

Stuff and NZHerald are really bad now, both wanting way too much permissions for what a news app should need.
Both have been uninstalled from all my devices now.

Hi - upgraded my Moto G - Generation 1 last week to Android Lollipop 5.0.2 - was straight forward.
However the Phone ran much much slower than before... seemed to go slower over a week... made navigation / maps impossible...

So did the Clear Cache Partition this morning - and was amazed - back to a blindingly fast phone again...
http://allaboutmotog.com/how-to-clear-cache-partition-on-moto-g-and-moto-x-after-android-lollipop-update/

Was a bit of a hassle - but so pleased with Moto G and Lollipop now.

Nexus 7 1st Gen 2012 with 5.1 is much better than 5.0.2

Hoping for a 5.1 build for my Moto G LTE.
