Re Odin, now that I've upgraded to 12.1 Odin shows the device as "added", and the com port windows shows it sees it on Com3 and the colour is blue.

So it looks like it could work. I was expecting the colour yellow, but I noticed online it can be yellow or blue.

Glad it's all working for you. I know nothing about Odin, I don't have a computer. I have had zero issues with 12.1. Only had trouble with battery drain keep awake problems due to Google Now/Google Play services which I have tamed through the privacy guard in CM.

Ps, still getting reboots of the note 2 running cm12.1. Pity, looks like no improvement of reboots and volume.

Update
ended up going for it. Odin did not show a yellow or blue square for me.

So just trust the com port and message window saying 'added'.

All good.
