thewanderingv: Have any of you recieved any OTA updates? The build on the 2degrees N6P seems to be two builds lower than the latest version. The late-October and early November patches don't seem to have come through.

On my second N6P which my parents picked up in Australia, the OTA update came through almost immediately after I started the phone up and connected it to a network.

Update: I managed to force the OTA update by doing these steps:

Put your device into air-plane mode (i.e. disable all connectivity options)
Go to Settings -> Apps -> Google Services Framework (You may need to enable the "Show System" option)
Click on Clear cache (if enabled)
Click on Clear data (and OK the warning)
Click on Force stop (and OK the warning)
Disable air-plane mode (e.g. enable WiFI)
Check that you have access to the network
Wait (usually no more than a couple of minutes)
Optionally, go back to Settings -> About Phone/Tablet -> System Updates -> Check now

It picked up the November updates and is now the latest build.

nakedmolerat: How can 2degrees hold up the update for a Nexus branded phone??? Are you sure on that?

Yes started a year - 18 months ago with the nexus 5 update to lollipop or something, google also updated 1 of their T&C's to say delays can be done from carrier

I received an update as soon as I fired it up. Didn't put a Sim in it for a couple of days, so it has nothing to do with the telco.

Google stagger the roll-out of updates by a kind of lottery. This method will certainly give you another chance in the lottery each time you do it, but it does it at the expense of your existing Google ID. Lots of apps use the ID, so it can cause problems. The only one I came across was that it broke the Play Store. Mostly it doesn't break it, but it can. I can't exactly remember the fix, but IIRC it involves removing your Google account from the phone and then adding it back. Not a major, but it's quite frightening when the Play Store stops working and just keeps giving you a stream of download errors. In short, I'd recommend patience and refrain from forcing the update.

I ordered exactly the same cables, they arrived yesterday. I'll grab the multimeter and try to test them tonight. Would be a shame to have to throw them away.

if true, it appears that he is a bodybuilder of some sort... no wonder he was able to bend the damn thing with guns the size of tree trunks...

I don't think it matters either way, it looks like you need to apply pressure to a particular point with your thumbs and pull back on the top and bottom with your fingers. The chances of that happening during some kind of accident seem pretty slim to me. So far I've only seen one report of a bent phone which wasn't bent on purpose and his appeared to come that way from the factory.

Turns out the orcon genius go app really messes things up on my 6p. When installed auto rotate doesn't work, can't hear anyone in phone calls and playing media only the top speaker works at a very low volume. Uninstalled and all sorted
