So @sidders80 then you are going to buy it?

If it was android 7 out of the box i would have hit the buy now

Might take the plunge and buy it

I will have a think about it over the next day or 2.

Told you :)

https://www.noelleeming.co.nz/shop/phones-and-gps/mobile-phones/android/spark-phones/sony-xperia-xz-smartphone-xz-mineral-black/prod149458.html

$879

Wow. That's a racing bargain. I'll be on the phone to them tomorrow to confirm that is what they'll be charging me for the one I ordered!

If not cancel the order and place one online or tell them to create a new one.

I am really thinking about getting one as I like sony phones, but i already have a s7 edge and a oneplus 3 :(

I shall be doing that tomorrow - will let you know the outcome.

So i think i will keep with the oneplus 3 for now, been looking at reviews etc this morning and the xz does look good but it's a bit of a downgrade on the op3.

It's a real bummer as I would have purchased it today if it had 4gigs of ram and android N out of the box.

I really dig the sony look (plus the new case for it looks great) but even with the 20% off it's a big ask.

Other than looks and "something new" I couldn't understand why, if you have the OP3, you were considering the Sony in the first place.

That sums it up, "look" and "new" :P

I spend way to much money on phones and tend to get new ones every 3 - 6 months

Always a fan of sony phones.  Had the z5 compact for a few months which was a good phone, the only issue i had with it was that pandora songs would stop playing after each song when connected via bluetooth.

Well been told that the NL price is cheaper than the staff pricing for that same phone, so get it while the gettings good, if you are in the market for it.

I've been onto them this morning and as usual, was confused by the unnecessarily complex nature of retail.

The phone is on order. However...

To get it at the sale price, they may have to cancel that order and order it again at the sale price.

I pointed out that that was insane. Just charge me the sale price on the ordered unit when it arrives. yell

"I will have to call 'them' and ask whether we can do that".

Awaiting the response...

So props for NL.

Yes they'll let me have it at that price and the unit has already been dispatched. May be in store tomorrow, if not should be Tuesday.

I need to find a case for it now; Sony make two, neither of which appears to be available on their NZ website.

Anyone spotted any anywhere?

I do like the hard case sony has. The fact that you don't have to open the case to use the screen is a big bonus.

Wonder if you can amazon one and youshop?

Ok, for the sony flip cover for the xz the UK will get stock in about 4 days time.

I would ring the sony store here in NZ and see when they are getting stock.  Can't be to far away

I like it but question how much drop protection it would give.

On the other hand you can get it in blue, unlike the phone...
