Problem is... There's a free case in the box (as well as a screen protector).

Oriphix: Wow that looks amazing seriously making me want to switch to this phone.
Was there any major difference with the Mate 9 vs the Mate 9 Pro versions? (someone mentioned there might be a pro version?)
Comparison of the specs

The wife and I brought each other one for a Xmas present.
So for I've been really impressed, and i was a little worried it might be a little big but it hasn't really presented a problem yet.
Also the update to b136 of EMUI is a step in the right direction with the notifications.
Any suggestions on a case? wife likes one with cards, and i just want something that isnt slippery and can take a bump or 3 with out being too large.
You know there's a case inside the box, right?
I just got my replacement today. Update was welcome and notifications are a lot better now. The Mate 9 is so fast, so impressed.

Thanks for that Deep, been looking on amazon, just not sure if anyone on here has had any experience with any thats all
Hi Jase,
From previous experience we have had no issues getting gear from Ali Express, I'll let you know if this changes with the current batch. BTW they sent out notifications for all the orders so they all now show as sent and you can track them in transit.
For my wife's phone I lucked out and picked up on Trademe a Mate9 folio case from a local guy who bought the wrong one on Amazon got it for a good price, Big plus I had the case ready for Christmas and some protection until the ordered cases arrive.
THanks
I grabbed a couple of aliexpress on Thursday so hopefully they arrive before i get back to work in the new year
anyone else having issues with slow notifications? sometimes i dont get any notifications till i unlock my phone which is rather annoying
also i have a game i play and it seems that every night the phone cleans up some cache data so every morning the game has to re-download content. this is not ideal as i do go without signal a bit as i work on a ship so with out re-downloading the data i cant play the game.
Nope, if anything the notifications all come on time for me.

Notifications okay here, we have a couple of devices that share notifications Samsung tablet and the Mate 9 I have noticed they synchronize nicely.
I'm assuming you downloaded the 650MB update and installed it ?. The reason why is that it does the following '...Huawei has started rolling out a software update to the Mate 9 smartphone. The update fixes some of the software issues that affected notifications on the device as well as bring some improvements to camera...'
