Won't work anymore.  User has already tried that but it still has the spark bootup screen. looks like the note 8 is a lot different when i comes to the CSC etc.

checking samfirmware i dont actually see the 2degrees one listed that my phone is running

No, I'm not turning it off specifically to save power. I'm turning it off because there is no point in leaving it on. I am asleep. I do not wish to be woken up by anyone ringing me, and would have it on silent anyway, so it may as well be off.

Leaving it on would be as pointless as leaving the TV on all night on mute.

No one lives close enough to me to make ringing me in an emergency a worthwhile act. I have no family in NZ. My closest family member lives in California, so ringing me won't be much help.
