Wait, what?

Note 10 has a fullHD screen, did you not know that?

Well it's more than that right?

https://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-10,Samsung-Galaxy-Note-9,Samsung-Galaxy-Note-10+/phones/11155,10857,11190

It's still awful, I can't recall the last time I saw screen resolutions get smaller.  I am not sure how much of a difference it will make in all honesty to most peoples lives, given the size of the screen, and there could be a benefit to battery life?

Yeah, little more, fullHD+ maybe? Given the battery is smaller on the N10, they had to shrink the resolution to improve the battery life

There is also no micro SD slot anymore so I am struggling to justify paying $1700 for it

You need more than 256GB of storage? Really?

Doesn’t really matter which way you cut it, the Note 10 is literally a nerfed S10 for more money, why anyone would consider it over the S10 for a S Pen is beyond me.

It looks like the Note 10 is there only to make the + look attractive and to justify the price.

If the claims that the S11 will be the true next gen upgrade spec wise, I can’t imagine what the retail price will be considering the Note 10 is $1700 and not even an upgrade over the S10.

S10+ looks really good to me right now - this is coming from a Note 9 user.

What a disappointment that the Note line is no longer leading the pack - it seems it is the Galaxy line now it seems for both feature and price.

Just to add, it wouldn't surprise me if they offered the S10e or S10 for free when you purchase a Note 10+ to justify the price.

Should have saved themselves some cost and released the S10+ with an s-pen. Then release the Note 10 as a bigger version with a few extra bells and whistles. As it is Samsung seem very much out of ideas about what to do with the Note range aside from the s-pen. There is nothing about it this year that screams upgrade.

I'd be all over the S10+ with a Pen. The reality is, that the Note10+ is really the only option surely? Bigger Screen, higher resolution, more memory, more storage...

Not sure why there is so much whining. I understand about the note 10 and its very weird placing between the s10/+ and the note 10+. But as far as upgrading from the note 9 to the 10+. There are definite attractions to want to upgrade. It has a bigger screen by a large margin, from 6.4" to 6.8". All while keeping it within the same form factor, infact its actually around 1mm thinner. Which the thickness can make significant differences to how it holds in the hand. This makes the phone a 91% screen to body ratio from 83%. Not an easy feat to get the bezels down at this point. Oh and they have the in display fingerprint reader :P

Decreased manufacturer process for the SOC, which improves both battery life and slight performance bump. Especially in single core performance.

Improved camera system, minimum 8gb ram/256gb (UFC 3.0!!!), 300mah bump in battery. From 4000 - 4300mah. Again not easy to do with the same form factor. 45w fast charging, albeit seperate purchase. But still 45w!.

Granted the cost is high, but a big part of that is because of where we are geographically and our horrid exchange rate. Which makes most technology to us more expensive compared to the rest of the world. Thats just our bad. But as smart phone screens get bigger and bigger every year and more tech being crammed into them. Its only logical that the cost would go up.

Anyway. Im happy to upgrade as i see there is valuable aspects which are worthy for the term. I purchased the note 9 last year with 512gb/8gb which cost me over 2 grand. Thinking that the following year wouldnt see much improvement and that i wouldnt like the punched camera. But here i am, ready for the next. Boyaaa!. I hope the pre order bundle is amazing though, it will be hard to be last years from pb tech. Those sennheiser headsets were awesome.

Just had a play with the Note 10+ at NL on Featherston St. Probably be my choice for my next phone coming from a Note 8 which I got on launch day way back when. I wouldn't bother with the 512gb version since I'll just throw an SD card card at the 256gb one.

I wonder who will have the best launch day deals.

Note 10+ also has a 256gb base model.

@DANOFDANGER You have a point; it is easy to write off the small on-paper increases as not much progress, but at the end of the day, until a game changer (maybe Fold 2.0 haha) comes along we are well into the point of diminishing returns. And the Note line is all about small refinements anyway rather than marketing gimmicks, so its not unexpected. Also given the Note really has no competition either, there is no pressure to compete on price. There will be people that want a premium and polished productivity experience and the Note + is about the only choice.

I guess Samsung is maybe trying to see if there is appetite for a tiered approach to the Note line as they have done with the S line. If the regular Note doesn't sell well at all, back to one next time maybe.

Exactly. Yea the fold was very interesting to me. Because i dont use a laptop, i do everything on my phone. So it needs to keep up with me and replace the tasks i would do on a lappy. The fold would bring the note into the next phase for this. But we have to wait for the technology to be more refined. But the potential is there.

Kopkiwi: That price, Jesus its going to be more expensive than the iPhone. Was going to get it, but they've ruled that for me. Will wait for the mate 30 Pro

They aren't really because they give you a whole bunch of free stuff with the pre order whereas with apple you don't even get a fast charger in the box.  They have to have the same RRP as apple because they are targeting the same market, then they soften the deal with free stuff and enhanced trade in value.  When I went from the S8+ -> Note 9, after all the discounts and wheeling, dealing, trading in and selling the free stuff on TM it ended up costing me $300 to change over.  I was fairly impressed with that.
