I got told too bad that's the way it is when I got a SD card camcorder thing locally and found out that it only did 24, 25 and 50 rates because it was the "pal" model so this is basically the same thing. I returned that camera and bought one that suited my needs.

mudguard:

Batman: Btw I have a tip. If you want to record video on a phone use an iPhone 11 pro. There is no comparison. S10 video is sh#te in comparison.

That doesn't help the OP if they've bought into Android. I face the constant issue with iOS of trying to export said high quality videos anywhere else. For example records a short clip of me hitting a golf ball. Que much gnashing of teeth trying to send the 30mb file anywhere.

NB I finally found a work around for this. As iPhone seems to remove the option of sending a file in iOS in Whatsapp, Viber, Signal etc, I've told him to wait until he gets home and the video is backed up in the cloud. He then logs into the cloud and sends me the link to high res file. Which I can then download.

If anyone knows a better method, please let me know!!

If I were to care about 24 fps I would likely care about the video quality. But perhaps not. Who knows.

Batman: 3rd party apps seem to record 24fps 25 and any decimal point in between. I'm also on s10 plus btw. Do you mean it doesn't save as 24fps?

Can I ask which apps you have got to successfully work with frame rates like 24fps / 25fps?

The one that seems to be working now for me is Cinema FV-5.

But Open Camera won't. I can set the frame rate, and it looks like it's recording 25fps But when I examine the video file using VLC, it says it's 30fps.

I briefly tried FilmicPro but same problem. So I got it refunded. I'll buy again and send the developers files and so on.

Premier Rush can ONLY do 30fps on my S10+ phone. The version on my iPhone 6s can do ALL the frame rates.

I note that my S10+ was purchased here in NZ, and uses the Exynos chipset.

What chipset is your one using. Exynos I assume? If bought here, I expect it is.

Thanks for the data point. I'm genuinely trying to figure out if this is my phone or a widespread problem.

Hmmm. I had done some research about Samsung video and photo quality and the conclusion seemed to be that it was excellent, and on a par with at least iPhone X

Do you have a comparison site / page I could look at?

I do think the video is important to me.

If my research was wrong, then I'll take my lumps.

But I'd like to confirm one way or the other

I have s10 plus and wife has 11 pro.

The difference in motion is night and day. When anything is moving and phone is still, s10 is very jerky at 30fps. At 60fps they turn into ghost. IPhone has no jerk and no ghosting.

When you are moving ie phone is moving iPhone stabilisation is miles better. The Samsung video will jump all over the place due to poor ois.

I did not compare digital IS nor video detail at different iso as the above 2 means I only want to shoot with my wife's phone.

Can I check what apps you are using on the S10+ that can shoot at 24/25 fps?

I'm closing / leaving this thread because Samsung Galaxy S10+ / Android finally overwhelmed me with it's inconsistencies, and chaotic environment. Volumes being set to zero seemingly at random . Rickety underpinnings. Video functionality limited in 3rd party apps. Anyway, just made me angry.

So I'm going back to my iPhone 6S, and have to deal with iOS stupidities. But at least those are predictable.

Be well in your choice of phone system.
