ChillingSilence: Couldn't wait for Froyo so I put CM-5.0.8 on the other day. Can't seem to upgrade to stock 2.2 Froyo though using these two:
94f103b38c726fe17a5ff8e7676a737b *signed-passion-ota-42745.dc39ca1f.zip
1efc3236bb628b3c0b69f30b6e55b9a2 *signed-passion-FRF85B-from-EPE54B.75b107d6.zip

Getting an error:
E:No signature (411 files)
E:Verification failed
Installation aborted.

On both the EPE54B upgrade and the full OTA update:
http://android.clients.google.com/pa...5.dc39ca1f.zip

Renamed to "update.zip", definitely no double-extensions either :-/

Any ideas? Have the AT&T version of the N1

Check out modaco.com.

Paul O"Brien has a rooted, flashable version of the FRF50 pre-release Froyo there. I've been using it since May 24th on My Nexus One.

When Froyo stock does come out, Modaco will have a rooted image within 24 hours....and Cyanogen and his team of devs are busy putting together CyanogenMod 6 built entirely from Froyo source code released last week.

I generally prefer CyanogenMod....but a rooted stock image isn't bad either. :-)

Confirmed, FRF85B is the final release version for Android 2.2. You will only get the OTA update if you are still using stock recovery, likewise you can only do the manual install using the links previously with stock recovery.

I have been using this for the last 24 hours, and it seems very stable. I still have the old Wifi retention issues, but there's only so much a software update can achieve I guess.

Just upgraded from CM using this:
http://htcpedia.com/forum/showthread.php?p=67177

Damn it's nice having a full blown uber fast browser, with Flash even ... They're really raising the bar with this release :D

I have just installed the final FRF85b Froyo from Modaco.com's "ROM Kitchen". I have a sub there, so you can just go to the "kitchen" and tick all the boxes for the options you want and it makes the ROM for you and you download it.

I completely refreshed the phone - wiped everything and re-partitioned the sdcard......and when Froyo booted up it automatically installed all the apps that had been installed on my phone when I last shut it down.

That was cool.

Really good to see FroYo come out.

Unfortunately, I'm running EPF30, which is the Vodafone ROM. Apparently my Nexus One was imported from Vodafone Germany, which I'm not too impressed about.

I'm assuming, though, that if I rooted it, I'd be able to flash the Stock ERF25 ROM (I think that's the one that's getting upgrades?) and do a manual upgrade to 2.2? Anyone out there got some instructions for doing so?

I'm assuming that would destroy all my data? Is there an easy way to back it all up and restore it once I've flashed the new ROM? (Applications and Contacts and such will all come back from Google, but the rest of, like Games, is what I'm wondering about).

You want to be sure the radio is compatible with the ROM you're flashing. if the version number is the same as the mainstream ones, then you're probably OK. If it is different, you'll want to be sure to flash the radio, too.

Make a note of all versions in the About Phone area in settings....and do some research.

I'd be inclined to think the hardware is the same and the firmware will differ...and firmware is flashable.

Be cautious, though. No reason to hurry. You don't want to brick the thing. :-)  (I don't think you will).

Yeah they're great phones, very easy to flash, so don't stress too much. Just do your research and you should be fine. XDA-Developers is your friend! :)

Cool, cheers for that. I'll ask about on XDA then. Or possibly just wait a couple of weeks and see if the EPF30 -> FroYo update materializes on time.

I've read on a few sites that Flash is a bit glitchy......has anyone had issues with this?
I'd love to be able to watch some justin.tv (only way to catch a Glasgow Rangers game in NZ) without having to fire up the laptop.
I have the stock version AT&T N1 so I'll be waiting for the OTA update due in the next week or so.
Cheers.

Yeah flash is a bit glitchy but is a lot better than when we first got a taste for it. I can easily watch some shows over on nz on demand. Once you get the video on full screen the video, after a while the video becomes smooth. Scrolling the webpages whilst flash is on is horrible but the latest FRF85b update seems to have rectified this problem somewhat.

I went to justin.tv just now and watched a few randomly selected "channels". They all worked fine. I'm now on Froyo final and the Adobe Flash v10.1 final.

The Flash support has got steadily better through the 3 betas and now onto the final release version. The final version has only been out 3 days, so any opinions prior to that are outdated.

Having Flash is *definitely* cool.

Totally respect what Apple are doing, taking a stand against flash, coz ultimately I'd love to see HTML5 supersede it, however in the interim it's actually freakin awesome having a cellphone that can handle it!

Wow I didn't know the final had been released. Can I get a link to the apk? The market is still only showing beta 3

Wow - another Froyo update FRF91, download directly from Google:

http://android.clients.google.com/packages/passion/signed-passion-FRF91-from-FRF85B.db99fdf1.zip

Installing it now, apparently it addresses some security issues ...

Same rules as before, need to be on stock recovery to install.
