Dse website is really messed up haha. There are like 4-5 u8150 basically offering the same thing (phone + 2degree sim) and their price varies from 284 to 304  ....haha

produKt: No worries :)
As always, ask to have a good play on an instore demo model or whatever first. I find the screen is too small for Swype sometimes =\

Also.... Buy a cheap one off some dick on Trademe.co.nz ? He/she/they/it would have one it off the text race, so they are normally cheap. 160 - 220$ is the price range i've seen.

I'm one of these said dicks, however have't listed any on trademe yet.

Glad you're not offended, in any way  ;)

Afaik 2degrees honour the warranty on em?

There are good bargain on brandnew u8150 on trademe with 2degree warranty for about $190.

So just to confirm since if i get it on trademe i can't try before i buy :

1. Can you plz try putting on a custom headphone (of decent quality) and see how the sound is in terms of Bass, Stereo (stereo right ? lol)  and is it ridiculously quiet ?  (i know u told me it sounded decent on speaker but on headphone its different so i just wanna know)

Any experience with the 2degree warranty ?

I just picked up a U8150 for $125 great little phone for the price.

I've used the "online update" button under "settings -> about phone" and it states I have the latest version

Android 2.2
Kernal 2.6.32.9-perf huawei@product#1
Build# U8150V100R001C183B825

I'm just wondering if this is the latest official firmware for this phone, or is it possible to flash later firmware (perhaps firmware belonging to a different region), this is because I want to stick with official firmware so I don't have to manually update/wipe firmware in the future, but I would like to be running the latest firmware / firmware from the region that gets the huawei updates first.

PS. $125 + $10 postage.

I have heard that 2 degrees are honouring the warranties, but have no personal experience.

I find it ranges between 60 and 80MB, sometimes about 48 if I have too much installed. ^_^

Skolink:
sustel: also any tips on battery life(as in changing settings or new applications)? my Ideos only seems to last a day even in standby all day

After I installed Skype my battery lasted less than 8 hours. I had mobile data disabled, and was at work (no wifi). I could see a dim red led to the left of the speaker constantly flashing, implying that it was hammering the wifi looking for a network? Needless to say I forced close on Skype and battery life returned to normal - 2 to 5 days with my usage habits.

PS I won the IDEOS U8150 givin away on this forum, and I love it!

I don't mean to double post, but the red light flashing, I think, is a proximity sensor thing. It does it in a call, and also some sensor-testing app did it when I tested the proximity sensor, too.
