hairy1: I found with my Android 2.2 tablet that 99.8% of activities were web browsing, Gmail and Angry Birds. The Gmail interface really held it back on 2.2 so that is main objective in getting a Honeycomb tablet. I will wait for the NZ release. I jumped too quickly with the last tablet I bought (Archos 101)

I'll wait too, although with the Galaxy Slim tab coming round the same time, it's going to be a really hard decision!

I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

That keyboard tips it in the favour of the transformer for me. It really ups the productivity. A bluetooth keyboard is fine but for portability and synergy the transformer keyboard takes the cake!

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Looks like Honeycomb 3.1 is coming to the Asus and Acer tablets next month. As far as updates go, that's pretty quick!

Definitely one of the hottest tablets on the market and With an optional dock we might get some serious work done on this tablet.

At $499USD it is a steal. Lets hope we get some comparative pricing in New Zealand, around $650NZD?

I would be very doubtful on that price. Remember to add in the 'New Zealand' factor which can double or in some cases triple prices through official retail channels.

Good time to purchase of ebay or US sites though as the kiwi dollar is strong at the moment against the greenback.

Well, the Australian launch was a complete debarcle. No stock. None of the supposed stockists had any knowledge of the device.

Asus did a big countdown on facebook but not one could be found....

If Aussie pricing is anything to go by $599 Australian and 32GB: $799 Australian including the dock it is shaping up to be an expensive device in NZ.
