Good spotting, thanks!

How much different is the TF101 dock from the Prime dock?

Scott, I have TF101 keyboard you can borrow if you want to try one out when you get the rest of bits.

Thanks but I will buy the whole set as one. I'm just curious if there is any difference in the docks other than colour.

After all these years pining for a Padfone type device, I have changed my mind.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is going to be my introduction to Android. I have decided that I want the biggest screen/resolution possible that will fit in my pocket.

T minus 2.5 weeks until I purchase one in Australia.

Maybe an HTC One X instead of the Note? Slightly more pocket-able, higher resolution, similar price (except in 20% off sales). Smaller screen tho'. But it does kind of move away from the 'one device to replace (sic) them all' ethos that generated the Padfone in the first place. Data entry sans a physical keyboard is still going to be more difficult, and so content creation is always going to be easier on a device like the Transformer I am typing this on. To me though, carrying the Padfone in my pocket and the tablet/screen & keyboard/dock in my briefcase really isn't any different to the DesireHD in my pocket and TF & keyboard in my briefcase. The biggest upside of the Padfone is that it is always synched because it is only one device. The downside is how do you answer a call when the kids are playing angry birds on it in the other room?

Scott, are you still going to get a "computer type" device to replace the macbook Air or is it going to be the Galaxy Note, a bluetooth keyboard and an HDMI cable?

Stink. I was looking forward to the padfone review... ;-)

Cheers, Matt.

Lower resolution than the Note in fact. The Note's is 1280x800, rather than the One X's 1280x720. If you're looking for maximum utility then the Note is the clear choice over the One X (providing you can handle the size that is, which is not a small caveat of course). Larger screen, replaceable battery, USB OTG, expandable memory, likely better bluetooth stack for things that are non-audio related based on history of both companies devices.
