OK here's mine - standard user, IT industry, tweaked my SG2 until I was happy with it........... Live in Wellington but have plenty of airpoints.

Depends what kind of review(er) you want really ;)

Currently using a Motorola Milestone on Telecom, I really like it but after taking it up to CM9 realise its time to try some faster hardware as ICS is not quite there yet on the Milestone.

I support a variety of clients on Android devices and am finding it hard to handle some of them have newer hardware than mine. As I live on my phone 24/7 I really love to take a device through its paces and find what it can do.

However you have a good handle on the type of reviewer I am, and that I live up to my end of the bargain with the agreement to provide reviews. I'd go to Auckland just to visit JB HiFi. Oh, and my brother and sister-in-law ;-)

I'll chuck my name in.

Live in Auckland so thats easy.

I have an Iphone 4 with vodafone for the past 1 1/2 years, spent time playing around with it (jailbreak to get it closer to an Android) & also running the stock Ios to compare.

I use a wide range of app's including - Financial, email, word processing, health & fitness and games

I would be able to install app's to sync with my business quoting on an Android phone (not on iphone) so it will be used during work & also at home.

Be very interested in trying one out!

Hi,

I would consider myself an Android Poweruser, currently running CM9 (ICS) nightly on a Nexus S phone and would love the opportunity to give my fist ever official written review. The phone would be used everyday for email, calendar, youtube, music and a few other apps.

I'm a keen Android user. I've been running a customised SGS2 for almost a year now, and have a pretty good idea of how these devices work under the hood. I'm also starting to look into Android kernel development and ROM customisation.

I'm in Auckland so should easily be able to make it to an event.

Another volunteer.
I'm keen to play around with any smart phone I can get my hands on really. I'm still rocking my Nokia 2630 circa 2008, on PrePay, with Vodafone. Good solid phone. But yes, a little dated. I've played around with Android and iOS a little bit, mainly helping family members set them up and tweak/solve issues. Being a tech lover, I would love to have jumped into the smartphone game, but the reality of a young family has meant it just isn't a priority in the budget. When eventually it is time to upgrade, either though necessity (ie - the phone giving up, or being destroyed by a child) or other, it will no doubt be in the lower end of the the market. I'd also love to see how the XT performs at home, we can sometimes have some patchy coverage, to be fair to Vodafone though, our current phones are not 3G capable. More and more I'm aware of situations where a "smart" phone and mobile data would be really useful and helpful, I'd love to explore all those possibilities.
And I live in Auckland, work in the CBD.

I'd be keen if I wasn't down here in Wellington, but presumably my writing ability would rule me right out anyway.

HTC Hero (Unlocked SPL, CyanogenMod 7'd)
Nexus One (Also CM7'd)
Samsung Galaxy Tab (Modded ICS version installed)
Samsung Galaxy S II (Customised to within an inch of its life)
HP TouchPad (Dualboot CM9/WebOS)
Samsung Galaxy Note (ICS beta'd)
LG P500 (CM7'd - for the gf)

Also rooted & flashed custom firmware onto a friends HTC Desire & an Ainol tablet.

Of course, knowing about things and reviewing things are entirely different beasts.

I'd be very keen to test this and write a detailed review.

While I'm a doctor by profession I've always had a keen interest in technology - from making PCBs and 'projects' as a youngster I started my own programming business around the age of 14 - started off with an Apple II+ - basic-->compiled machine code etc... and around that time also used other languages such as PASCAL etc... I also worked for the University of Auckland and used mainframes such as 4341, 3081 etc and for a while was the Mac Archive Administrator back in the days when international bandwidth was extremely expensive and we imported shareware etc and store it locally for users to download. I was also vice-president of the Auckland Apple Users Group for a while. With another programmer I also wrote a large Healthcare system using PARADOX and this was the predominant system in the Auckland Maternity services from sometime in the nineties for approximately 10 years.

As far as phones go my first connection was I think ?late eighties and I was connected to Telecom via Motorola Cellular Services (back in the day when there were four companies who connected to Telecom) - I initially had a brick Motorola 9800XL which was the top phone at the time and cost me >$3000 to purchase. My next phone was a Microtac Elite - got it the day it arrived in the country - again cost >$3000 - the top of the flip phones at the time. I've had many many phones since and was using Windows Mobile for some time before I started using an Iphone 4S when they launched last year.

I have one Android phone but it is very much a base model and so my Android experience so far has been relatively inferior to what I have had with my Iphone - I haven't been keen to buy a more expensive Android as the Iphone has met my needs but I would really like to see what this new phone can do - I know that most of the longterm GZ members use Android and it would be great to be able to do an honest comparison between my 4S and a good Android device.
