thudb:
hio77: Isn't quite ready yet.

Out of curiosity what needs to be done to tweak it so it is ready?

As far as I understand its been packaged in with the upgrade to Q. Which obviously isn't quite ready yet :)

So is everybody on EMUI 9.0.270? Why would we need to wait for Android Q when other regions are already getting the 9.1 update separately?

Doesn't Huwaei just roll out the update to all devices, 'who' is holding it up for New Zealand customers?

Thanks

PS: Mate 20 is an awesome phone and looking forward to many future updates for a long time :)

EMUI 9.1 doesn't include Q, it's an update to Huawei's own software rather than the underlying Google parts. Q hasn't been finalised by Google yet.

Brings the Mate 20 series and other eligible devices up to what the P30 series launched with - new compiler, better performance, better battery life, GPU Turbo 3.0, Assistant power button shortcut, more camera modes (including 30x zoom and Moon Mode for Mate 20 Pro), fixes the inconsistent iconography, etc.

Pretty sweet update, those software fixes were the biggest incentive for me to jump from Mate 20 Pro to P30 Pro - P30 Pro just turned out to have ridiculously good battery life and a markedly improved in-display fingerprint scanner into the bargain which made up for the absence of 3D face unlock.

Did you force your phone to download the update? Or are they starting to roll it out in NZ?

That's the Hisuite software version @Erock is referring to I think.

To be honest, I don't know what that means.

Went into software update on the phone and checked updates.

Now it shows:

EMUI 9.1.0

91.1.0.300(AUSC636E10R1917)

Is it up to each local network to release the update at their own accordance? I'm with Skinny.

Ironically this is exactly the same version of the HiSuite software which is a desktop application for managing all Huawei devices.

I'm with 2degrees.

I really don't notice a single difference.  The phone was already great as it was but if it means it got better then I'm glad. 🤣
