Has anybody heard of a mate 30 being released? I tried GSMarena.

This was one of the reasons I didnt invest in the p30p at the time as I thought the mate series to be the flagship?

Anyway, Im really liking the price of the mate 20x, its size really fits what Ive been looking for. However, does it have similar productivity capabilities to the samsung note 9?

I like how Huawei make connecting Emui to a monitor so easy, just an HDMI adapter and thats pretty much it. I can see the Mate 20x being a replacement for my go everywhere notebook if it has producitivity features like the note 9.

Im glad the US saw sense over the Huawei issue, or more to the point Trump got what he wanted. The EU still seem to be advising Nokia networking devices over Huawei, but I believe that there security concerns are more quality based, and I dont think that has any reflection on Huawei personal devices?

if a Mate 30x is coming, Id really like to get on board a large device like this. I considered the massive battery in Mi Max 3. But the size and battery life is probably more multimedia beneficial than work.

Just get the P30 Pro. Available now. Should replace your Windows Phone and Samsung A series with no Samsung Pay in NZ.

I like it, I had one for a week to review. But Im not a fan of curved screens. I really want a stylus large screen as well for LightRoom on the go touch ups. Does the Mpen or whatever the Huawei stylus is called work on the P30P?

Im not in need of the RYYB sensor either, in fact my preference is for the mate 20 pro sensor. Thats just pure photography preference. I get why some people like it.

Haha my A30 is doing fabulous for the money and the other 2 for the other 2 people as well. Perhaps the redmi note 7 would have been better for speed, but you cant beat SAMOLED or OLED of any kind.

One thing I didnt get to test was viewing UHD HDR10 content on Netflix, have you tried it and do you notice a difference with the HDR or do you think its the 1440p+ screen? Of course OLED looks better on movies. Its amazing how much text I can read even in 1080p and how much contrast the SAMOLED gives me.

But the phone was always an in betweener for me, I had the credit card at noel leemings on the final day of pre order, I was so close.

But I really want a stylus driven UX design.

On the Note 8 I found writing pretty much everything, texts etc. On the a30 Im using voice and its remarkeable how accurate it is. I would be presuming Huawei to be a similar experience on the 20x or 30x if one is released.......

The leaked view of the Mate 30 pro looks incredible. Edge to edge display, like 0.5mm bezel etc. Always have to take pre release specs with a grain of salt, but it could be 5 months away going on the 20 release.

What has been released that might work for me is the 20 x 5G version. I notice its 5x optical OIS zoom vs 3x on the mate 20 pro.

Quinny I hope that doesnt happen as Im sure all Huawei users are.

Another new phone that looks good to me is the honor 20 which uses a bayer array sensor WITH OIS I believe, I dont think many companies are using the imx586 with OIS. I believe OP7 is another.

But given the price of the mate 20 at just over $800 and $1k for the 20 x, its hard to beat them for value.

Im still for waiting the 9.1 upgrade. I got this random upgrade notification. Changelog shows 9.1 but it was only a 19kb file.

I have the above update for a week now and it's worth it.

Phone feels faster and more like P30 icons etc.

I've not really noticed a differance.

I do hear there is another large one due at some stage.
I just hope it aligns with something useful like carrier bundle changes ;)

I really wish that side was decoupled from the rest of the platform like iOS. Credit where it's due, Apple got that right from the get-go.

The next big update will likely be EMUI 10 before the end of the year.
