VG: Appreciate Samsung really should have done better at checking expectations from the off or with communicating updates on what's going on.

From what I understand, there is a huge struggle with staffing at all the courier companies due to Omicron... Not just with the drivers either. We heavily rely on them and they're getting slammed... Also bit of an unfortunate circumstance where more people are at home and needing couriers too.

Hold tight everyone✌🏾

**edit: I'm absolutely frothing at the idea of getting my new S22+. Going from an old LG G7 ThinQ I'm pretty certain my little mind will be totally satisfied and especially going in with no fear of being disappointed by incremental change! This will be a fairly decent jump for me.

This would explain why my S22U has been sitting in 'Tracking number allocated to parcel' since 7 March and finally updated to 'Collected from sender' this morning.

Batman:

i am a bit torn. screen is amazing without screen protector. i'm sure it won't look as good with a screen protector

I haven't ever used screen protectors and haven't broken a screen since my Galaxy S5 in 2010 I think it was. I've dropped both my current (Pixel 3a) and previous (Nexus 6P) phones a fair few times and over time they ended up with light scratches but not planning on getting a screen protector for the S22 I have on order. I have always used cases and have a Google fabric on one the 3a and have taken up the free leather case offer on the S22.

I just wasted 60 bucks on a decent screen protector for the S22, absolutely hated it when I put it on. The sharp edges when swiping and the finger print sensitivity just killed any hope I had for screen protectors on this device.

I put the cheap $24 one on from NL, clarity is fine as is sensitivity. I did turn the phones sensitivity up though - although I couldn't tell the difference anyway.

Took advantage of PB's EOFY clearance and got these two S22U cases:

https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MPPOTB00043/OtterBox-Galaxy-S22-Ultra-5G-React-Series-Case---B

https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MPPSGP03915/Spigen-Galaxy-S22-Ultra-5G-Liquid-Air-Case---Black

I wouldn't normally go for an Otterbox because their cases have always been too bulky for my liking but saw their new React Series which looks to be slimmer than their other cases so decided to give it a go.

The Spigen one has very interesting texture design to it, would likely be very grippy and slim.

Just in case anyone is looking for the 'Samsung' branded S22 cases on PBTech, they appear to be listed under "Other Samsung Cases" and not in their respective phone model category.

5G.. See where the 5G box is white up the top right? I guess he's a little distance away from the celltower though, or inside a building as the speeds a little low.  Best I got since starting drivetesting was in Invercargill, S6INS - 948.88down 95.18up, I was a couple hundred meters from the tower inside a car - not really fair conditions to compare obviously.

Have just been told by Samsung that they're out of stock again of some devices and will receive some next week.😒 The struggle continues.

Pair that with useless customer support, even from superiors, makes me regret ordering from them.

Sorry to hear for those of you still waiting for devices. I know the pain, though thankfully avoided it this time.

Hang in there.
