I'm already on a contract, if i buy it for $200, can i just restart my contract from here, or do i pay termination fee for the existing contract?

if your contract isn't yet finished then you'll have to pay to cancelling your current contract to get on another contract. Termination fee is subject to the contract policies. You might need to check the provider web site for the actual price.

Best if you want to stick to your contract but want a new phone then pay the phone out right and use the phone with the current plan you are on now.

Not 100% correct on Vodafone you could have a ERF (early resign fee) $150 + GST depending time left on contract term

I hadn't, but they often make lots of little factual errors with specs like that.

I sent my Galaxy S III vs One X post the day after the launch event in London and I haven't noticed it on the homepage if that means anything. It heavily favoured upon the One X as well. I'll be honest when I say a MicroSD slot, removable battery and "superior" audio don't matter much to me personally

That's fine, I've been pretty consistent about "for my use", no one can argue something is better for your use than you can obviously.

I think the main problem with the One X isn't the non-removable battery so much as the actual battery life, if that was fine I could live with a non-removable battery. For people with lighter use I'd imagine the One X will be perfectly fine from that point of view too.

NZtechFreak: do you think a custom rom would change things? I couldn't get 24 hours from my S2 when I first got it. Now I can get 3 days of reasonable use from it with the 2000mah battery addon and 2 days 15 hours on the standard battery.

Certainly I think the One X can do better, and partly it's Telecom's fault that it isn't since we're on an outdated ROM at present. End of the day though the battery capacity is too small, and there's only so much software optimisation can do about that. Worth bearing in mind that the S3 will likely maintain it's battery life advantage with it's own custom ROM improvements.

I've stuck with stock on mine, I'm aware I'd get some improvement with more recent firmwares.

Will indeed be interesting to see the actual comparison.

On things with a lot of whites the RBGs do better than SAMOLED, but otherwise SAMOLED and pentile use less energy.

In relation to the 32nm process, it's not just the 32nm that results in battery savings, it's Samsung's specific High-K+ Metal Gate technology (which gives ~20% extra battery life over non-HK+MG 32nm SoCs). It results in less voltage leakage which means lower battery consumption and slightly lower temperatures (since the leaked energy is dissipated as heat). Anandtech's piece on the iPad2,4 revision which uses Samsung's HK+MG 32nm process is very illuminating, it tears battery life on the older iPad2 revisions a new one.

Between that and the larger battery capacity I'd be very surprised if the S3 didn't enjoy quite a sizeable advantage in battery life.

EDIT: Oh, and yes, mine is S-Off too (I think all the Tech Blog ones are).
