Anyone else broken their screen yet? I've asked a couple of kiosk type places but seems too new for them. Official repair is $330, and I'd have to send it to Auckland

Geeze that must be a record.

perhaps ive been lucky Ive never damaged a phone screen "yet" Ive bought a screen protector for this  P30 Pro but yet to apply.

Im rather paranoid about my phones shall we say. look after them and am aware of their location. Pockets and so forth. Usually can sell them after a year or so as near mint on trademe.

Hope you find a good solution

Yeah I'm pretty gutted. I had it in the stock clear case since I got it, but I took it out one night to clear dust and leaves from inbetween the phone and case. Forgot to put it back in the case the next morning, and dropped it - so probably less than 12 hours out of the case.

Interestingly two repair places still haven't responded with a quote after a week, so I wonder if it's too new for parts to be available. I'll call the official repairer to see if parts are available for them

Excellent stuff!

Also, is anybody still experiencing no notifications for some apps (I'm guessing due to the excessive battery saver) or even Google Timeline saying on some days you haven't travelled anywhere even though you have? I'm guessing this is also to do with the battery saver, even though I don't have it turned on. On Vodafone NZ 9.1.0.168 update.

No notifications problems. Just make sure you change the app to have manual launch management and to add it to the Special Access | Ignore Battery Optimisation.

Settings | Apps | All Apps. Tap the three dots on the top right and select Special Access | Ignore Battery Optimisation.

This camera is so much fun and insanely good. Last night there was a perfect clear sky for a star trail photo.

I assume you would have used a tripod of some sort

Yup, just a standard tripod in the backyard, using star trail mode on camera, set it there for about 30 mins and this was the result. Alternatively you could hold your phone in your hands and stay perfectly still for 30 mins :D

I've taken the plunge. Signed up to 2degrees (mobile) yesterday and, after weighing up a few matters, got a P30 Pro today. Looking forward to setting it up a bit later and have already 'redeemed' the gift (watch and wireless earbuds) so now have to patiently wait for those to arrive. What to do now with my Nexus 6P..?
