I put Samsung screen protector on very easy to do no bubbles and works fine with fingerprint sensor working immediately no need to change touch sensitivity .
But on checking spen bottom left of screen couple of spots pen not writing, so did spen diagnostics test in Samsung Members app and all the squares worked with exception of the 2 spots where not writing but they worked when put more pressure on so test all passed. So at this stage hopefully I haven't got faulty phone will need to go and see Samsung kiosk and check out next week when out of isolation, or next thing will have to install 2nd screen protector from pack I ordered.
Loving the phone touch heavier than my Note 10+ and I like now buttons on the right hand side preferable as right handed previously on Note 10+ buttons on left, also screen very easy to see in bright sunlight.

The digitizer will not be effected by the screen protector...

Have you got a case on your phone? Take it off then try it.

S-pen is effected by magnets.

I'm waiting on any progress on my order of an S22+ (Green 256GB) placed on the Thursday last week, haven't had any email at all since the order confirmation one - everything it just stuck on 'processing'...

I emailed the estorenz address earlier this week and haven't had any response either. Pretty disappointing.

thanks @restecp took Spigen case off and that was problem(https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Ultra-Hybrid-Designed-Galaxy/dp/B09JFNW8KZ?th=1&language=en_US&currency=NZD)
which had the same case on my note 10+ 2.5 years never any problems, comparing them kick stand is bigger plus seems to have larger magnet so this was cause of spots not writing. Every note I've had always make sure case has no magnet clasp because I know that it interferes with spen so really surprised this time especially with Spigen brand.

All good bro.

The polarity of the Magnet is what matters. I see this all the time with AliExpress cases etc.

Some "quick" thoughts on the screen protectors and cases I've tried so far (for S22 Ultra).

Screen protector: Zagg Fusion Curve with D3O (not the XTR one). Was whatever the one local shop had in stock:

  • Good:

    • Feels really good -- not tacky/grabby at all, honestly feels pretty close to the naked glass on my last phone,
    • Barely/not marred by the s-pen and feels good to use with it,
    • No touch issues that I've been able to detect,
    • Pre-curved edges fit the device well and alignment with included tool was very decent.
  • Bad:

    • One curved side not sticking so well (that side is a lost cause now),
    • Doesn't fit with UAG Monarch (one corner is not gonna stay... probably means the whole thing is a lost cause 😅)
    • Not cheap (~$50 for one!)
    • Got one spec of dust underneath. My fault, but the application method isn't the best (I'm no expert, but I've done my fair share)

Case: Samsung Silicon with strap (blue/orange):

  • Good:

    • Strap makes one handed use a good amount less sketchy,
    • Looks pretty unique (could also be bad...) -- navy/orange case with a burgundy phone,
    • Buttons are pretty decent (better than expected certainly),
    • Installation/removal is easy, and doesn't feel like it would come out by accident
  • Neutral:

    • s-pen access for my fingers is ok, but not great
  • Bad:

    • Silicon case attracts insane amounts of pet hair and dust
    • Relatively expensive

This is the case that I'd use around the house or if you take a lot of photos (it makes holding the phone while framing one handed dramatically simpler)

Case: Samsung Protective standing case (blue):

  •  Surprising:

    • The back is semi-transparent polycarbonate(?). It looks opaque in the pictures. The back on the white one is clear apparently.
  • Good:

    • Kickstand is solid, useful and doesn't flap open,
    • Side textured/rubbery grip feels good and is grippy and secure to hold,
    • Buttons are very good
    • Installation/removal is easy, and doesn't feel like it would come out by accident
    • On account of the transparent back, it actually looks pretty good with the burgundy phone (goes kind of dark purple)
  • Neutral:

    • s-pen access for my fingers is ok, but not great
  • Bad:

    • Polycarbonate back is slippery and gets slimy if you have wet or sweaty hands,
    • Durability of the back not great so far, polycarbonate already has a few of what appear to be chips in it
    • Not tested impact resistance yet, but I'm not convinced that it'll durable enough for my use-case (falling onto rocks at speed) -- certainly it doesn't give off properly durable case vibes.
    • Relatively expensive

This is the case I'd take if travelling for the kickstand and probably decent drop protection.

Case: Spigen Liquid Air:

  • Good:

    • Looks really good if you're after a minimal/clean aesthetic,
    • Grip is good,
    • Buttons are good,
    • Very slim and adds minimal bulk to the phone, though the depth does go to the full height of the cameras, so it does add a bit of thickness
    • Good s-spen access for my fingers
    • Doesn't attract excessive dust
    • Cheap
  • Neutral:

    • Not the case to get for drop or impact protection obviously -- this is a protection against scuffs, minor tumbles and to keep your screen and camera glass off the table type deal.

This is the case I'd use if I wanted my phone to look smart / was in the office and wasn't planning on doing anything sketchy.

Case: UAG Monarch (CF):

  • Good:

    • Built like a tank -- is audibly solid
    • Looks good in an ExtremeActionSports(tm) way I think
    • A lot less bulky than expected (still bulky though: see Bad)
    • Great S-pen access for my fingers
    • Excellent grip and surpringly good one-handed handling (I think because of all the complications on the back). Of the 4 cases I've tried, the Monarch is second only to the strap case for one-handed use (and even then it's marginal)!
    • Also more comfortable in the hand than expected (and than my previous UAG cases)
  • Neutral:

    • Buttons feel solid, but also harder to click than any of the other cases -- hoping they loosen up over time, if not this would move into the bad category for me
    • Harder to get on/off than the other cases, but not terrible. Extremely unlikely to come off by accident.
  • Bad:

    • Very bulky and adds a lot of depth (not as bulky as expected: see Good)
    • Incompatible with the Zagg screen protector I have on the phone
    • Heavy -- adds noticable weight to the phone -- this does make it feel more solid, but you probably want a good fit or a belt for your pants... (not untrue for the S22 Ultra by itself mind you)
    • I'm not a fan of the extra space around the cameras, which creates a greater surface area for damage. I imagine that it's done to allow a camera protector to be fitted, but for my (and I suspect most people's) use it provides worse camera protection than the samsung protective case.
    • Expensive!

This is the case I'd use if I expected to drop my phone or smash it into stuff (for me that's while riding bikes, snowsports, etc.)

And a question:

Do I just cut my losses, rip off the bandaid and get rid of the screen protector and go naked?

I could also get a custom cut hydrogel one that will fit better, but at that point it's nearly $100 down on screen protectors...

Final option is to just live with a slowly peeling screen for a while and defer the decision.

Thanks @nebuz

I've also got the UAG Monarch Carbon Fibre. Love the look.

It's not as bulky as Otterbox Defender series though.

For me, it's a small compromise in terms of the amount of protection I'd like. I'm yet to put it on a device though.

I have a UAG Plasma on my 5 year old S8, and with the drops that the Plasma handled on my S8 throughout the 5 years, I would recommend UAG any day.

Yeah, personally I think it looks great, and I live in a place where a garmin and rugged case on your phone count as suitable for black tie events, so it's even more appropriate.

Once on the phone it honestly feels like it would stop a bullet too...

@nebuz - I've been a big fan of the Samsung protective standing cover but yes I agree with you this time around its a little slipper due to the material.

Do you recommend any other alternative which is similar protection and not too bulky with a stand?

I considered the Spigen tough armor, but I personally don't like P-shaped camera cutouts and the kickstand itself looks really sub-par (I haven't tried it though).

So far I'm still going to stick with the official standing protective cover because to me it looks very clean and it's official. Looks nice especially I swapped the Navy stand to grey stand that came as spare. Nice contrast with dark navy-grey.

I found Zagg to be terrible with my past experience, spigen/ most popular Ali express ones on the other hand were quite good.Had the plastic spigen on my old s20u worked great, currently I'm using a vanilla s22 monarch cf with the spigen glass screen protector, fit is fantasic and finger print actual works almost perfectly. Recognizes on first touch, given it feels somewhat abit slower to recognize with the glass. And if it actually couldn't read my finger print, i could normally get it to work less around 3 times or less.

BUT THE KEY STEP is to setup the finger print after you have installed the protector and take multiple readings from different placements and not before, which I seem might be from a lot of the bad reviews are from.

Just had a fail on installing the Zagg Fusion XTR for the 22+.  I watched an install video's many times and felt fairly confident but for the life of me I couldn't get the x4 holes to align before moving onto the final steps (see photo, this was after taking it on/off a fair few times trying to align the holes).

I got the SP on offer a few weeks ago for $62 down from $79.00 for NL so still pricey.  I'm feeling grateful/validated that after taking the SP and phone into store a member of staff who has historically installed various SP's couldn't make it line up and then after x amount of tries deemed it was a fail and refunded me!

Appreciate there has been fair bit of SP talk already but thought this was a valid contribution.  I'm now thinking of hitting Queensgate mall (or if someone has a personal recommendation in the Welly region) tomorrow and getting one installed...I had briefly looked at the hydrogel after someone mentioned it before but still fairly unfamiliar with how well this tech works.  https://mac-ops.co.nz/hydrogel-screen-protector/.

Anyone now having (hopefully) had their new SS+ for a little while got any further 2c on the SP side of things?!

Thank you.

Honestly, the 4 dollar SP (qty of 2) I got from AliExpress was installed so easily without bubbles.

Don't get fooled paying more than 10 bucks.
