Are the dropouts affecting the unit that badly? I'm not noticing any major issues in using the phone, nor any major battery concerns. Cell Standby is 6% across 20 hours.

I havent really been roaming much... But there is a youtube video on the signal

I realise these aren't the most accurate descriptions of my problem, but you can clearly see that I lost ~30% battery life while the phone was sleeping (apart from occasionally waking up to sync my email, I'm guessing). I'm assuming this is due to the poor signal in my room, which didn't used to be an issue. I suppose the only way to know definitively is if I get my other friend with an N4 to come over and check the signal on both phones in the same places...

Which network are you on, and is it usually a low coverage area? My Mobile Network Signal is 99% green where as yours is not most of the time, not sure if there's any correlation there.

I'm with Vodafone. Signal seems to stay green while I'm in the city.

I am looking for something that is convenient and won't cost me an arm and a leg please?

I got a mate in Australia to order me one of the following: http://www.gadgets4geeks.com.au/product/qi_wireless_charger

They don't ship to NZ though without emailing them and asking for rates etc. My mate ordered it and then shipped it to me once it arrived there.

It works a treat. I use it while at work for top up charging. It does make the phone get quite hot though, but I suspect that happens with all Qi wireless charging devices.

The glass is NOT scratch resistant it is a piece of *+%]
. Already got scratches on the screen and always had a screen protector..

So I got a Nexus 4 yesterday. Complete impulse purchase whilst at the Warehouse Stationary for something else - saw the dummy unit and suddenly found myself asking it they had it in physical stock in that store.

Be interesting to spend some more time with it and see how I like it compared to my Note 2 and incoming HTC Butterfly.

Neat, I find myself missing the hardware keyboard a bit still. (Had a Desire Z and a HTC Touch Pro before this)

Just be careful with it and/or get a case, it "seems" fragile :P

It is definitely more fragile than a plastic-backed phone, but with a cheap case ($9 on trademe) I am quite confident it is protected.

You can be too paranoid, a colleague here at work keeps her smart phone in a sock because she is afraid of it getting damaged!

Is there a bumper similar to the official LG one (doesn't need to be as fancy though), but doesn't jut out around the screen? (Or alternatively, a case with a transparent back, or a back that mimics the phone's back panel - LG went to great lengths to make the back pretty, so why hide it?)

Basically I use gesture-based controls a lot, which involve swiping (or tapping) from the edges of the screen, which is why I'd prefer a case/bumper that doesn't jut out.

Many different colours company has a good return policy but everyone has been satisfied so far.
What you need to do is first create an ebay account and personal message him to send you an invoice to your paypal because ythey haven't set the shipping to New Zealand yet although they do ship.
So just say I am from new zealand send me invoice for poetic bumper
For nexus 4 then say which colour to my paypal email then just pay it of and your good to go have your shipping address ready on paypal though.

Oh man! I had no idea these existed! I spent about $36 to get a legit bumper from Google Play to NZ :-( In terms of the bumper jutting outside the screen, it's not too much of an issue. I didn't like it at first, but after 2 days I was used to it and have no problems with it. The screen doesn't begin until about 5mm inside the glass anyway, so it's not going to affect your gestures at all.
