dafman: Finally saw my first Nexus 6 in the flesh over the weekend. Nice hardware kit, nice interface - but just too big for my liking. Hope there is a smaller pure android option in the next iteration.

There's always the 5.2" 1080p version otherwise known as the Moto X 2014 :P

kobiak: google cuts prices for nexus 6.

not yet in NZ?

Good! I paid full price and everyone one else of you mongrels should have to as well ;)

In other news, 5.1.1 got pushed as an OTA the other day, and there's a new version of Google Camera that's make taking photos a lot better (could still be improved though)

Audiophiles are such twits! They buy such pointless stuff: Gold plated cables, $2000 power cords. Idiots.

OOOHHHH HYPERFIBRE!

A little bit of a thread hijack, but im thinking about ordering a nexus 9.

Just curious how ordering from google play store works.  It says GST inclusive, how does customs figure out if you have paid gst or not on the product?

Can anyone who has ordered from the google play store enlighten me?

I see that Expansys has the LTE model for NZ$564.  Was thinking of getting one for the wife to replace her  Nexus 7 that has been like watching paint dry since it's update to lollipop..

That's interesting, my Nexus 7 has been fine on lollipop, a couple of odd crashes, but the only main difference is that it takes considerably longer to boot up. About a minute vs 20 seconds. I still think it is the best electronic purchase I've made. I'm trying hard not to buy the Nexus 6 to replace my S4.

Is yours the Mk1 or Mk 2 Nexus 7?  My wife's in the 2012 Mk1 model.. I believe that the Mk2 model was better with Lollipop..

Mine is the MK2, 2013 LTE Nexus 7. I'm still tempted to get the wifi only version for my partner. Her Memopad screen is pretty dire, hardware ok, but not nice to look at.

That seems a good price. I bought a LG G3 dual sim about two months ago as I couldn't stand the loan iPhone 4s after my N5 broke. I regret it.... might have to order one and flick the G3 on

Looks like they have changed their policies.   Before I order this i saw a box about NZ GST that said it was included.  I just got an email from them saying it's not

"Thank you for your business with us.

Because we are base in Hong Kong, our prices are GST exclusive, simply because we have no right to collect GST. We have this informations on our T&C and we also have this note /info on the website just before you made finale check out: http://www.expansys.co.nz/basket/

Any order exceeding NZ$400 will attract GST on arrival in NZ. GST is about 15% of total amount for NZ including shipping which is payable to your NZ custom directly:
https://www.ird.govt.nz/gst/return-filing/return-pay/

There are also addition payment such as Import Transaction Fee NZ$40.77, GST on Import Transaction Fee NZ$6.12 and Payment Deferment NZ$8.70 on top of 15% GST.

If your oder is for company use, you may will be able to claim the GST back. Please check with your NZ local authority for detail. Please advice if this is acceptable or if order cancellation required by replying this email with your decision. CC has NOT been charged / remain untouched. If your payment is by PP, full amount is refundable.

We are sorry for any inconvenience that may caused.

Kind Regards,

Expansys Team (HK)"

I will go ahead as if I get done for the extra it is still cheaper that the likes of PB tech..

I redid the sums again and canceled the order.  Got a PayPal refund overnite..   Wife has decided not to get a phablet now as my old Samsung Tab 2 died last nite .  Was on charge during the day but was dead on power up..  Her Nexus 7  runs at snail pace since going to lollipop  so will look now at a new tablet.  Samsun gthese days make some nice ones but they are pricing them at the same prices as Apple products so they're out of the picture now.  Will do some research..

If you are considering Android tablet - have a look at Asus Zenpad. I have the previous version of this (Asus Memopad ME572) which I am quite fond of. They have been getting pretty decent reviews. I think they are some of the best Android tablets since the Nexus 7 2013.

Just my 2c.

And for the Nexus 6 - that price did seem a bit too good to be true. You might want to see if she would be keen for the Moto X style instead - for about $400 usd, that might be a better phone than the Nexus 6.
