friendlymonkey: Turns out the orcon genius go app really messes things up on my 6p. When installed auto rotate doesn't work, can't hear anyone in phone calls and playing media only the top speaker works at a very low volume. Uninstalled and all sorted

There's a good reason that app has co many terrible ratings. It's buggy as hell.

Agreed, very good for the price. I've got another case from Ali express turning up tomorrow...and these are the temporary cases while I wait for the Spigen to ship in December :)

mimihau: Hey guys - I'm keen to get hold of one of these today if possible.  Anyone know if they're in stock at any stores in Auckland?  Thanks!

Noel Leeming on Queen St have them.

o if you scroll down in the comments there is a photo of the guy who bent the two 6P's on youtube.

if true, it appears that he is a bodybuilder of some sort... no wonder he was able to bend the damn thing with guns the size of tree trunks...

If I have SBW's arms, I would feel ashamed if I can't bend a large but super slim electronic gadget like the Nexus 6P.
And this dude's arms are probably bigger than SBW! foot-in-mouth

Is anyone having a problem with the secondary ambient display on the 6P? It just doesn't seem to switch on when I pick up my phone.

friendlymonkey: Are others having issue with auto rotate not working at all? Doubled checked all settings

You haven't dropped it at all perchance? Reason I ask is that mine fell off the bench onto wooden floor the day I got it - i'm an idiot! Caused auto rotate to stop working. Quick check on internet had me downloading small app called phone tester which confirmed y and z axes of accelerometer were stuck! The solution was stated as dropping it again to unstick them! So I set about dropping it from different heights until after about 6 experimental goes a final drop from about 600mm on its back onto carpeted floor worked!

I hasten to add that I knew what had caused my problem so was willing to try the suggested solution! Your situation may be different!

FWIW:

It turns out that a screen protector without a cutout for the proximity sensor impairs the the ambient display. I had one ordered from SuperShieldz, and as soon as I got rid of it, the display works fine.

The gap for the camera doesn't look large enough? A few people talking online about covering up the laser focus is bad for the camera

Alrighty, got some questions..

1: How can I set my phone so that when I view images in my gallery, they are full screen? Currently when I am taking a picture and viewing in the gallery, it doesn't completely cover the screen and you can see black/grey borders on the screen.

2: Might be more of an Android 6.0 question, but how can I record in slow motion? I have been recording videos, however the beginning and end of the videos are in normal speed. Is that just how it is?

1: Pretty sure that's just the way it is as the image you take is not the same dimensions as the screen size. Double tap the image and it will give you the real size?

2: You can choose to record in real time/120/240. Once you have recorded your footage, play it, then pause it to control when you want the slow mo to kick in.

Hope this helped

You're probably taking photos in 4:3, the screen is 16:9. You could change the camera settings to 16:9, though these will be harder to crop for regular print sizes.

Thanks for the replies regarding the above questions...

Another question, probably more Android 6.0 related but..

Why is there no option to restart the device? Since I started using the 6P, the only option is Shut down.
