It's great to see the return of the SD, but a little disappointing that Samsung are not allowing the Marshmallow option to integrate the SD into the main memory.

JimmyH: However, it looks like the NZ/Aus models may get the Exynos chipset instead, and that this may be a materially weaker processor.

From their press release: "Octa core (2.3GHz Quad + 1.6GHz Quad), 64 bit, 14 nm process"

Has anyone pre-ordered phones from Spark before? If the release date is the 11th of March, would they send it out the day before so it arrives on launch day? Obviously each customer's mileage would vary depending on where you live but keen to hear how they do operate!

Given you cant integrate the SD card into the phone memory id say its Samsung wanting you to buy a large capacity phone for a premium price and then extending the storage vs. buying a cheap 128GB SD card and a low capacity device.

The watches are available here right now. It is the called the Gear S2 and there are 2 different styles available. I've had mine for about 3 weeks and love it.

Part of the reason Samsung (reportedly) gave was they wanted to reduce the chance of the OS storage being corrupted by incorrect removal of the SD card. That, and the use of low performance memory compromising performance. Didn't seem to bother Google though when they designed adoptable memory into Marshmellow in the first place.

I have seen mention, but no detailed images of the combined SIM/SD Card tray. Anybody that went to the launch and handled the physical handset able to comment?

I'd also be interested in how they are going to prevent burn in when using the 'always on' display. And whether that particular feature is retrospectively available to the S6. It's only display software after all.

I would be too.

I saw the worst burn in ever at Noel Leeming on Samsung devices. So bad you could clearly see the burnt in image over the current. I think its a big issue for Samsung.

there should be no burn in issue since they say they spend thousands of hours testing there devices  ...i think u can set it up the "always on" feature goes off when put it in your pocket...

I am so paranoid about the burn in on my LG G Watch R that I have the 'always on' display set so low and thin that it is barely worth having it on at all. I assume it had many hours of testing as well.

I use a mirror finish cover on my S6 which it shines through when lit up and would do similar with the S7 so would probably not use the always on feature.

The carrot of the VR headset with pre-orders effectively giving a $200 discount at launch is tempting.

I got mine the day they were released.. still love it..

Once you turn a lot of things off I get about 4 days..

I'm keen as for the S7, don't even use the pen on note 4 anymore..

I say the "always on" feature too. I guess I just skimmed over it as I assumed you could turn it off. Given the risk of burn in, and the extra sapping of the battery, I would certainly want to do so.

So, what model and colour are you thinking will be yours?

I'll probably opt S7 (not Edge) in silver.

I am going for the S7 Edge in gold! Can't wait. Going to get it directly from a Samsung kiosk to avoid the on-account hassles.

like the new phone, certainly been struggling with the S6 and the loss of Ext SD card, water resistance and removable battery so I'm in for the S7 Edge.

tried to pre order on Spark site but doesn't recognise existing customer but online chat very quick to give me email contact to order through. Lets hope they get it :)
