Wellington will receive stock tomorrow. Nick MacKay the floor manager says he'll set one aside for you, probably be worth giving the store a bell to let them know which colour. :)

No spare battery at this stage as the supplier has been unable to confirm the ETA. If and when such a promo is built, it will be offered to customers who have already purchased a V20.

No plans for other colours.

So my observations after a few hours:

It's a really nice phone. Feels a little less premium than my Notes and the Pixel but not by much. It's a pretty significant device in the hand. Screen is excellent though I haven't yet adjusted to the different colour tone which is more muted than my other devices. I play a lot of clash of clans and everytime it opens I double take. The AMOLED screens I am used to from mostly having a Samsung Daily driver, are known to be over exposed and I will adjust.

Camera is super quick and takes good photos based on my initial few quick snaps.

The fingerprint reader is quick and accurate. It's not as recessed as a 6P or Pixel XL which makes it slightly less recognisable which isn't a huge problem. The power button integrated is interesting. Not entirely convinced it doesn't lend itself to issues later.

It's super quick though I am using mobile data while I am away for a few days so I won't be moving all my content over this weekend so it's a little hard to judge entirely. Pretty confident it will be as quick as the Pixel XL and Note 7.

The biggest thing I noticed was how amazing the included ear buds from B&O are. WOW. I have owned a few pairs and due to prior surgery and radiotheraphy on my neck I find them hard to wear and don't like them as much as over ear headphones of which I own a reasonable collection of pretty expensive ones. These are AMAZING. They fit in a way I've not experienced before and the sound is delivered in such a way as it feels like it's in your head not coming from ear buds. I actually intended to give them a 5 minute initial listen and spend 1.5 hours listening to music with them last night. That's really saying something. The sound isn't quite as good as my Monster Copper $400 USD earphones, but I probably enjoyed listening to them more strange as it is to make a comment like that. They were the first thing on my mind this morning. Unsure how they compare if plugged into my Note5, I guess I'll try that later.

So far reasonably impressed. This phone ticks most of my boxes (except the S-Pen) and has potential to be my next daily driver.

Now that's interesting - I found the HiFi audio output (When manually switched on) to be very good indeed, possibly the best I've heard directly from any handset including numerous models touting HiFi capabilities. Drives my Grados well, and it's a dream with my TripleFi 10s. Wasn't blown away by the B&Os, though they're a big step above the usual pack-in fare despite colleagues' comments that the plastic baggie they're in makes them seem much cheaper than they are(!).

A good set of in-ears is a drastically different experience to on-ear or open/closed over-ear, as long as you get a good seal.

Suspect you'll find the Note5 audio experience dismal in comparison, I haven't been overly impressed with Galaxy S audio output since the exceptional Wolfson chip in the original i9000. Keen to hear how you get on plugging the Monsters into the V20 when you return. Be worth upgrading to a set of Sennheisers I'd say!

I would love to hear whats the battery life you guys are getting - particularly screen on times?

I know the phone is quite sizable in the hand, just wondering if its as unwieldy as the iPhone + in one hand or similar?

I picked one up from Manukau PBTech yesterday. I like the box it comes in, interesting folding out design. I haven't tried the provided B&O earbuds but my over-the-ear Bose headphones work great. I love the audio quality provided by the DAC. I have a Nexus 6P and the size is similar - it's about as large as I want to go for a phone. Recently I switched to a iPhone SE for testing a work application so going back to a big phone has been a challenge. I'd forgotten how nice it is to be able to browse websites on a large screen though.

The phone came with some form of screen protector on the front and and protector on the back. Is this added by PB Tech? Or is it an out of the box thing?

I can't comment on battery life since I haven't used it for 24 hours yet. Phone seems smooth and fast. Camera is good. The wide angle rear lens camera is fun to play with. The manual settings on the camera allow changing shutter speed, ISO, exposure, etc. Shutter speed can be set to as long as 30 seconds.

This is my first dual SIM phone and I'm not entirely sure what the advantages are. I'd have to get a 2nd SIM to try that out. Lots of options in the settings and widgets for providing data on each SIM separately. I can see a use for roaming having a 2nd local SIM installed. Or a SIM for a different carrier to take advantage of data deals or if one goes down.

By default the LG interface doesn't have an 'Apps' button in the dock bar on the home screen. I enabled that in the settings as I found it a bit hard to get used to. The second screen is more useful to me as an additional row of buttons than for notifications. The notifications tend to disappear very quickly on it.

If you're not with spark, then getting a second sim with them would be good to give you access to their wifi hotspots.

Very much so, especially one with this kind of grunt behind it. I'd go so far as to say the V20 is currently the best audio experience of any smartphone, the lack of stereo speakers notwithstanding.

That said, I'm lucky enough to have a set of the Beats Solo3 Wireless on hand as well, and those paired with an iPhone are really very good. Apple solved for three of the biggest pain points of Bluetooth headphones past - range, pairing, and most importantly, battery life. They're not kidding with the 40 hours of playback, I charge them once a month at most with over an hour of use each day.

Will come back to you on battery life, I need to test this further as it's crucial to my use-case. Currently distracted by the Pixel.

It's a 5.7" phone, but my preference is 6" anyway. Physically, it's a similar footprint to the Plus models, bearing in mind that the iPhones Plus are enormous for 5.5" phones and have bezels out the wazoo. LG (and everyone else, Pixels aside) squeezes in much more screen for the footprint than Apple.

Yep, stock is enroute to Christchurch now and will be there today or tomorrow.

We ordered more stock of the grey and expect it to be the more popular colour, my preference is for the silver though.

That's just LG's packaging film, recommend removing it! Don't recommend removing the anti-shatter film on the camera glass however. :)

That is a very good point, hadn't considered the WiFi. Definite advantage of this year's higher-end Dual-SIM phones supporting 3G on SIM2.

Chief benefits of Dual-SIM in my view are:

If you have a work-supplied SIM card but use a separate personal number, you can carry one phone instead of two
If you travel frequently, you can use a local SIM card to reduce roaming costs while still keeping your NZ SIM active
If you're on Prepay and juggle SIMs/networks/deals frequently to get the best deals, you can use one SIM for data and the other for calls and texts, or any combo thereof
If you're in a rural area with marginal coverage, or have a mission-critical job such as emergency services, you can have two networks active in a single handset to maximise your coverage footprint and minimise time without service

So far my experience with the V20 is great. I'm coming from a Note 3 so the size is similar. The V20 is just slightly longer due to the additional screen.

I charged it up full last night and today I have about 51% battery left. Screen on time so far is over 2.5 hours. With my usage, I think it'll be easy to manage 5 hours screen on time with this phone. This is what I was expecting, so quite happy.

Mostly I've installed apps, done browsing, messaging, a few phone calls and a few photos to test the camera etc. No gaming.

I've yet to try the audio but will give that a whirl tonight.

The build quality of the phone seems really good. I'm liking the second screen as I switch between three apps heavily so it actually is a nice feature. I was worried about missing the LED but the second screen seems to be good enough for me to glance and see if I have any notifications/emails waiting.

The camera seems good - much much better than I'm used to as my old phone had such a slow camera. I will give it a good try over the weekend.

Phone overall is very fast. Only thing I need now is to find a case for it, so I don't feel so nervous carrying it around. :)
