It was a dance with death.  They had boosted traded in values so the S8+ was worth about $800.  Being the cheap barstard I am I sold it on TM for $600, then brought the cheapest crap phone I could that qualified for the boosted trade in (S5) and then traded that in.  That gained me about $100 but I only just managed to trade in the S5 a few days before the boosted trade in dissapeared so it could have all gone wrong on me.

The pre order specials are higher on phones without new features to boost sales.  S8 had huge features.  S9 almost nothing. Note 9 not much as everyone was waiting for the S10.  Based on that formula the specials for the Note 10 should be decent.

For me the Note 10 is a non-starter, I'd rather score a Note 9 at a good price.

On the other hand the Note 10+ is looking quite nice, probably the 256GB model and not opting to pay ~$300 more to have 5G.

My current daily driver has a 6.44" screen and 5300mAh battery, so out of the N9, N10 & N10+ it is only the N10+ that isn't a step back in screen size - with all 3 being a step back in battery capacity.  I can easily run 3 days on my battery, so a drop in battery capacity isn't too big a deal.

Between the availability of a dongle and my main headphones being Bose bluetooth ones - losing the headphone jack isn't a deal breaker to me.

If I can get ~$300 trade-in for my old S7Edge then I'll probably get the N10+ as soon as its available.  I haven't been using my S7Edge as a daily driver for quite some time (since I bought a cheaper large screen phone) and just use it for a Sat-Nav on the motorcycle (since it is waterproof).  The S10+ could handle the Sat-Nav duties as well as becoming my new daily driver.

I'm liking the Note 10+ even more now that it's looking like the dual SIM variant that NZ is getting over the 5G.

When watching the unpacked event, I was put off by the increasing volume of rubbish teenie software Samsung are now bloating their phones with. Depth sensors so you can create 3D soft toys to dance along with you. Or painting cute pictures in video mode that stick to your subjects and move with them. If this trend continues, my S10 will be my last Samsung phone.

Or maybe I'm just getting old.

I thought exactly the same and saying its power phone, with more for kids in the event.I actually got more information from all the leaks prior to event in which there was nothing really about the phone, especially nothing said about no headphone jack.

Sadly thats what the younguns are into these days.  Don't forget the leading feature of the iPhone X was that you could have a poo anamojie.

Vodafone has posted their RRP price, as expected $1699 and $1899. Now let's wait to see how much they will cram in for preorder bonuses.

Ruphus: Found this on Pbtech's website

https://www.pbtech.co.nz/promotions/samsung-note-10-accessories-bonus

Wow, it looks very weak compared to what has been bundled in recent times.

So if you put /buy/ at the end of the note 10 samsung site you can now get the NZ pricing and extras

Note 10+ comes with a bonus memory upgrade 256 --> 512 and screen replacement (currently saying start price of 2,299) Looks like they are adding the extra 400 to the price and not counting it yet as a free bonus.

256 = 1899

512 = 2299

Note 10 comes with free wireless buds and screen replacement starting at 1,699

Also have tradein but don't know the numbers on that yet

Yes must say the bonus this time around is a little disappointing.

active 2 + buds would have made a great bonus.  I was 1/2 expecting the 45watt charger as part of the bonus.

The deals are as disappointing as the Note 10 to be honest.

Might be worth waiting 2-3 months because I am sure there will be some BOGO deals.
