I didn't get the alert on my A53 till about 5 seconds after that quake started, but the location and magnitude were pretty close to bang on what Geonet has posted

I didn't get it until about 2 minutes later, but I was driving at the time. The alert did say that I may have just felt an earthquake, or similar.

Just shy of a full minute post alert until hitting Christchurch. System works to an extent

Interestingly it also sparked up a heap of iphones. But I can't find a solid yes on their factory early alert system being extended to NZ or a geonet api hook

No phones in our household actually made the alarm sound. Instead just got a silent notification. Not sure if that's because our phones were on silent/vibrate but it would be nice if the alert sound acted like an emergency alert

Remote location in DOC country 15km NW of Motueka.
Both our Skinny connected phones, Samsung A22 and Redmi Note 10, alarmed within 3 or 4 seconds of the shakes starting and boy did it shake!
It took me a few minutes to figure out where the loud sounds came from among our multitude of active devices in our motorhome.
I am impressed.

Interesting. I was out walking and didn’t feel it this evening. A52s didn’t go off either….

Didnt get an alert, but did feel it over in the banks of peninsula - guess Google didn't think we were close enough for the need of an alert.

Nothing at all here on my S22 Ultra before, during or after. I have all relevant settings enabled too. I live on the coast almost directly opposite the epicentre, so felt very strongly here.

Not sure why I didn't get the alert as I've had EQ alerts in the past (usually a few secs before or while it's happening).
