I have a extra, unopened Novo 7 Elf sitting on my coffee table, If anyone is interested in purchasing I'd take $200 plus postage. I'm heading away for two weeks on Monday night so you'd have to be quick. It's in CHCH if that makes a difference. It will also come with a free mini HDMI to HDMI cable. Also you'll get it in a few days instead of a month if you order from china. Post here if interested and also PM me

I can confirm there are several ways to get the market to work on the elf, this script works fine http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/27202-scripts-lordsbm-script-for-all-allwinner-a10-tablet-ics-firmwares/

When you do get the market on there does it have full access - as in what device is it recognized as?

That script edits the build.prop file so market thinks it's a Galaxy SII, you get full market access and can use market enabler.

Excellent, great stuff.  Shows the benefits of purchasing a supported device, both by the manufacturer and the wider community.

I'm trying to decide between the elf, Aurora or the Onda Vi40 Elite.  The Ainols have very good support but the Onda is relatively unknown.

What's the 'Market Enabler' please?

Market enabler allows you to install apps that are restricted by region, usually the US. http://me.rac.su/

You can purchase Samsung Galaxy 5" WIFI Tablet for ~$200 -> $300 as new on trademe, this would be better than a cheap android chinese tablet.  They are cheap bc they are free with samsung tvs and lots of people trying to get rid of them on trademe.  I bought one for $210 yesterday.

Just tried a video call on skype and it worked fine :) I was actually surprised I thought it might be a bit crap, the camera isn't that great though. The speaker is surprising loud to.

Cool, thanks for clearing that up. It's a 2MP front facing camera, so actually better than most of the offerings. By comparison, the Ainol Advanced originals etc were 0.3MP.

Is there anything it can't do?!

My spare elf is on trademe http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=442370525 . Be patient with questions I'm heading to the arse end of nowhere for a while and I'm not sure how often I can get online.
To answer the other question I didn't get a chance to try teamspeak sorry.
