Lower resolution than the Note in fact. The Note's is 1280x800, rather than the One X's 1280x720. If you're looking for maximum utility then the Note is the clear choice over the One X (providing you can handle the size that is, which is not a small caveat of course). Larger screen, replaceable battery, USB OTG, expandable memory, likely better bluetooth stack for things that are non-audio related based on history of both companies devices.

I think the OP was pretty clear about that being important, so I didn't feel any particular need to qualify it as you've done here. Something like 5 million of us are using Notes quite happily as our phone device too though.

Absolutely fair enough. I've never for a second pretended that the Note is anything other than a niche device (if you're in the niche though it's an incredible handset).;

I stand corrected on the resolution, thanks. I guess in the context of what I was proposing (retaining phone and tab as separate entities) was tidier in my circumstance than the Padfone plus accessories for around a similar price. However if it is to be only one device then the Note with some bluetooth accessories would appear a good solution.
