motorwayne: I get quite a few dropped calls on the Nexus 4 every since owning it and so does a work mate, both on XT. Anyone else seeing this and any ideas on a fix?

Cheers

Yes,  I too get dropped calls possibly every 2nd or 3rd call perhaps less.  I'm on XT in wellington but the drops aren't specific to wellington

I've upgraded to 4.2.2 but no change

kitinnz: Oh yeah, got my Nexus wireless charger yesterday. Fairly pricey but I love not fumbling for the usb cord when I turn in for the night. First thoughts? The magnet holding the phone is stronger than I expected - reckon it could hold it upside down! Also, charging overnight it turned off my "daydream" (faded out clock) which I use as a bedside clock. I wondered if it stops charging at some point? Doesn't happen when the phones plugged in. Anyhoo, will have to try a second night to see what happens.

Awesome, mine is on the way, interesting about the daydreams as that's half the reason I wanted it!

I'm 99% sure my issue was related to the Lightflow notification app, rather than the charger. I played with a few settings the other night. I'll disabled it and test tonight.

Lucky I left myself 1%... I've switched off lightflow and it hasn't helped. Two nights in a row my clock has switched off once the orb/phone has reached the top of it's designated charge. I tried the clock through "Daydream" as well as directly through the clock app itself. Both switched off. I haven't searched extensively for a remedy, although I did find an XDA post which said the clock should stay on (obviously different to my experience). I read a bunch of different reviews of the charging orb and no one mentioned this, so either I'm doing something wrong or not one of those people uses there phone as a bedside clock. I'll be gutted if I can't sort this as it is pretty much a fatal flaw for me...

I've done a bit of digging and I may have found the root cause. Apparently the orb requires higher amps than a regular USB micro charger outputs. The included charger outputs 1.8a, while the Samsung one I was using outputs 0.7a (Nexus 4 charger outputs 1.2a). This is most likely causing me some issues for charging. I've swapped the Samsung one out for the one included with the orb and I'll see how it goes.

Apologies for the slightly sideways hijacking of the thread... not quite off-topic but probably not far.

Kitinnz.... you are the man.  I had no idea about the different ampage from the wall plugs.  I just used my wall socket from the Nexus 4 and it didn't work and was convinced it was faulty.  However after  reading your post I have a working Orb again.  Who would have thought that that slight diff in amps would have made such a difference.

Thanks heaps for your work on this

Awesome, glad your Orb is up and running! Yip, I had no idea that they output different ampage, I just thought they were all transferable - micro USB was micro USB, end of the story.  After I did my trawl online I read through the Instruction Manual that came with the orb... page 4 in a highlighted bolded box "IMPORTANT Use only the power adapter and cable that come with your charger. Using a different power adapter may damage your phone or reduce charging efficiency".  Probably should have read the instructions first...Tongue Out

Would anyone know an easy way to transfer my contacts from a Lumia 800 windows phone to a nexus 4 which is arriving soon?

Can you sync to a Gmail account on your Lumia? Getting everything into Gmail is the easiest way to shift to Android (IMO). You can sort out getting the contacts to Gmail now while you wait for the phone, then when you get it and log in they'll be on the phone automatically!  Not sure how easy it is to get Gmail on a Windows phone, but it must be possible...

AFAIK, all your contacts should be automatically synced with http://contacts.live.com/ - if this is the case simply open the website, go to Manage -> Export. This will save all your contacts as a standard .csv file, which you can then import into your Google/Gmail account (the account which you will be using on your N4)
