How did you get this installed on your Desire?

I'm running an unrooted Desire from Orcon, and when I try to install Test-to-speed Extended (from the Google Translate app) the Market search comes up blank :(

Are you running 2.2 as well, haakuturi?

It won't show up on the Market for people running 2.2, as it's already included with Froyo :) Unfortunately the Google Translate app doesn't realise this, that's why it keeps asking you to install it from the Market.

Yeah I am running 2.2

Thanks for that RevoWution - I'll tell Google Translate to shut the hell up then! :P
Although, is there a way to install *other* languages for it? It'd be pretty awesome if it could speak Gaelic/Hindi etc.

Hey sorry, my Desire was playing up so I sent it back before I have a crack at rooting it. Hoping to get it back soon, how do people live without smartphones!!!

Ah, excellent. I was asking as their website states:

THE HTC DESIRE WHILST SHIPPING WTH ANDROID 2.1 CAN BE UPDATED TO ANDROID 2.2 FOR FREE VIA AN OVER THE AIR UPDATE

But if it can update anyway that should've be a problem.

Cheers!

I had the same issue on skype.com/m
but just went to Market and got it from there... looks like they've sent out the email promoting their Android app without updating their website first :)

It's on the Market :) I had no problem downloading and installing it from there.

The app itself needs a lot of work, imo. There's no real way of closing the app at all except using our "Back" buttons lol...  :|
