This link was posted in another (?) thread earlier in the day:

http://www.noelleeming.co.nz/shop/communications/mobile-cellular-phones-cellphones/2degrees/2degrees-smartphones/lg-nexus4-google-nexus-4-smartphone/prod120508.html

Noel Leeming have it for $639.20 until 2 April 2013, may be a bit more than Google Play Store, but it is a lot easier and quicker.

^Take that price to warehouse stationery and they will give it to you for $608 under their price match policy.

lokhor: I'm thinking about getting a Nexus 4, what's the cheapest way to get a 16gb one?

I got mine from the Google Playstore in the States - $468nz all up. It's easy to do, you'll need: A proxy to access the Playstore as if you're in the States (I use tunnelbear - it's great), a Visa or Mastercard DEBIT card (not credit) to pay for it, and a US shipping service (I use NZPost's Youshop, it's great). I was lucky and sneaked in without any duty/gst. My friend wasn't so lucky and got caught and his was an extra $105 - still cheaper than NZ. $400 is the customs cut off, but they will often let stuff through up to double that as the paper work and handling make it not worth their while.

Keep in mind if you buy from Google direct you won't have a warranty - they're only for US purchases. I was happy to take the risk to save a few hundred dollars, but everyone's different.

Just read the other replies - if you can get it for $608 from NZ I probably wouldn't bother with the Playstore option!

Went to Warehouse Stationery but as they're owned by The Warehouse who now own Noel Leeming they won't beat the price by 5%. They did match it though so got it for $639.20. Not too bad if you want one right now with a NZ warranty.

They used a different excuse with me - because Warehouse Stationery is having a 20% off sale, technically the Noel Leeming price isn't "better" - its the same. So they won't give the 5%. I see someone on the  GPforums managed to get the 5% discount so just bad luck for us I guess.  I was going to buy it anyway but the staff were so rude I decided to go elsewhere.
