stevenz: Mine has finally left the proxy company in the USA. Total cost including domestic+international shipping is NZ$330 for the 8Gb model. Not exactly a huge saving but better than nothing. Should be low enough that poxy customs don't want their slice. ETA is next Thursday. We shall see.

What proxy company did you use?

I used ComGateway.

The N7 is currently sitting on my desk in the office in Wellington. I'm not back until town until Thursday though so can't play with it until then :(

shanep10: Is it true that flash doesn't work on Jelly Beam so it is not possible to watch ondemand Tv etc. ?

It doesn't "officially" work.  Unofficially, it works just fine if you can find the APK elsewhere and sideload it.

I have flash working on JB but of course only in the native browser. It does not work in Chrome at all.

Ok so i admit to being non techy compared to most here.
My wife is totally unimpressed that i've bought a new tablet and she can't watch Coronation St on it using On Demand.
She now thinks i'm an even bigger twit than before.
Can i fix this issue or am i stuck with it?

That is because On Demand uses Flash and not HTML5 which the Nexus is set up for.  You could try downloading Adobe Flash Player from the play store ans see if that fixes it. Although I would hurry as I have a vague feeling I read some where it is going to be removed.  Hopefully TVNZ will move to HTML5 soon.

Good luck.

Just picked mine up yesterday from Dick Smiths. Tried at NL yesterday - nothing. Followed by HN who claimed no retailer in the country had them. Phoned in the morning to be told they would be in that afternoon.

Pretty straight forward to setup, screen looks fine despite reading a few negative reports. Gave it a good thrashing last night and the battery held up fine. Will definitely need to root it just to get flash on it.

I note that Dicks website loudly proclaims the $25 bonus....

Did you have them pre-installed?

Only way i could get my $25 was to proxy to the US to get it
Could play the movie the first night but now i can't get movies working on it.

God someone could really do DSE at the moment, their page says $25 bonus, free movie and then also says access to HD movies and over 4 million books etc.

They just copied and paste from the US access.
Someone could really have a field day with "not able to supply" if they got it from DSE

I don't have a N7 but I do have a Galaxy Nexus running JB. I downloaded the flash apk and installed it fine.

I then went to TV3 on demand using the stock browser (not Chrome) and was able to watch content. I don't know if the N7 has a stock browser or only Chrome but certainly the JB image for the GN has the stock browser.

Flash isn't going away from the market. Adobe just said there will be no support for it beyond ICS and if you are accessing the Play Store using JB it won't show up. But you can sideload the apk easily enough.

No credit or movie but wasn't expecting either. Dick's would probably just offer money back if I made a fuss, since there is no way they could actually fulfill what's on their website. End of the day it wasn't a factor in buying it so not bothered.
