Yup, was there too at 9:20. Looks like they opened an hour early for the crowds. The discounts they’re offering aren’t worth waiting in line for 2 hours.

Nah they had VIP partner companies staff allowed in early which pissed me if even more.

Remind you of another tech chain ;-p love there HUGE sales of 10% off too.

But what I do like Is Xiaomi having a presence at least it will show people its not just PBtech (even if it maybe) selling these strangely named phones, people trust bricks and mortar.

The Pocofone and redmi note 5 cameras have the same problem, good side 1.4um pixels, but no OIS, so can get blurry shots, especially in low light.

Managed to get the 2 things I wanted in the cart dead on 1pm, but then the site crashed at checkout :(

Anyone having success with their website? I have stuff in my cart but can't seem to check out.

Won't take my address... what a pain

Wouldnt it be just like one big IP or DOS attack at the mo with problem at least 100s trying to checkout?

I did consider pocofone, but without OIS the camera is not for me.

I ended up giving up in the end and just going and buying the vacuum and headphones from PBTech instead

Headphones are good. All reviews Ive seen have said so.

I expected more phones to be available. Perhaps in time.

I've just added a Redmi 5 to my cart and paid for it. Never mentioned that it was sold out.

My 12 year old went with his mate and parents...they were about 200-odd in line (they got a card with a number on it)....he found it all very exciting and the friend's parents bought a load of stuff, but he said it was a bit of a feeding frenzy - people grabbing stuff even if they weren't buying, just in case they wanted to...then just dumping it on their way to the counter with stuff they were actually purchasing.

Glad I didn't go...I can't stand that kind of behaviour.

I'll go look at the range at PB Tech at some point...

yeah i wasnt too concerned, you can get it regularly at just over $500 as you pointed out, I guess though the big deal about the Mi Store is the local Bricks and Mortar warranty which could be a game/price changer the more the public gain confidence vs $1500 iPhones.

i want the pocofone just to play with for a while. I REALLY wish it had OIS and then Id seriously consider it as a main phone. Those night time shots of moving objects etc are just too blurry, but still objects and day time its pretty good, im liking it uses big pixel sensor, but the redmi note 5 AI would be the cheapest semi good camera phone with very similar results. but of course no where near the power etc if you are a gamer etc.
