Based of what I can see I think Samsung has the best deal so have pulled the trigger. $200 off plus a free galaxy watch which I'm sure will resell for at least $220 - $230 otherwise a good bit of tech to keep. Plus you get a bit in reward points, I think $40 or $50 worth perhaps.

"1. "Point Value. The value of reward points, and points awarded for purchases, may vary from time to time at Samsung's sole discretion. As of 05 August 2021, 100 points of Samsung Rewards allows you to purchase something worth $1NZD on the Samsung online store.""

Pulled a trigger on a white 22, with the wireless charging/Smart Cover pack.

Also ordered a 25w wall charger off them too ^_^

Looking forward to the new phone!

Gordy7:

I sent an online email to Samsung this morning regarding not receiving the S22 Pre-registration Code for the $200 discount.

I ordered an S22 Ultra (256GB) anyway as my S8+ is getting a bit tired. Delivery due 24 Feb.

The purchase included an eVoucher of $500 which I used for a case, chargers and a few other items. All up $2081.55.

An eVoucher which you have to spend when making the phone purchase (otherwise you loose it) is not the same as a discount.

A $200 discount as offered on my purchase price would be nice.

The $200 discount code arrived about 6 hours after I had placed my order.

Samsung said that I couldn't get the discount applied to an existing order.

I was advised to cancel my first order and create a new pre-order and apply the discount code.

The credit for my first order will come through in about 3 business days.

Delivery is still 24 Feb.

The points thing is confusing, they are sayin you will get 5% of your purchase price in points. Are they saying a $1100 phone gets 55 points, or $55 worth of points. Theres a huge difference of the former being 55 cents and the latter being 5500 points.

Anyone that's orders already could someone possibly put their order number in to the points calculator on the site and see what it says you should get?

I'm weighing up the options and if it's $55 I won't bother wasting my time with a charger or smart tags as I can just spend the points on those once they clear and use the credit for something else.

Exciting, just pre-ordered the 512GB burgundy colour with a free 42mm Galaxy Watch 4 Classic for $2,199.

I saw the green colour sell out so quickly jumped online and made the order. I didn't want to risk it considering chip shortages and what not.

Bought from Samsung directly.

As an Apple fanboi, I am always envious when Samsung release their new Galaxy range, as they are always ahead of the curve on the things that I think are important, like the 10x Optical zoom/telephoto camera etc.

One thing I am not sure about though, is the look of the Ultra with (approx) 34 cameras on it's back.

No different to the previous generation with it's 5 lenses and flash.  The lenses are a bit bigger because the sensors are bigger, but coming from the S21 Ultra it's been great having the flexibility of all those lenses.

I was just going to mention the same.

I guess the stock levels are lower due to chip shortages. Luckily I made the right call to order late last night after seeing the green colour go out of stock.

Code: PBS22939741 takes a couple hundred off over at PB Tech.

Was mentioned in a recent Cheapies post discussing all of the S22 deals available.

@wakrak

Looks like PB finally matched Samsung's deal! Wonder what is better long term for after sale support: PBTech or Samsung direct?

After sales support will always go back to Sammy anyway so there shouldn't be any difference.

Just crunched the numbers - it still seems the Samsung deal is better but only if you sell the freebie.

Update: Don't forget to add on 2.5% cc surcharge with PB. This makes Sammy's deal much better as they have no cc fees.

Yea thanks for pointing out the credit card processing fees. We have reward points for every $100 so thats another savings of $12 plus not having to pay CC fees.
