Klathman:

Look like I will need to wait longer to get my phone. I received a package from Spark today but they sent a standard S23 rather than an Ultra. Hopefully, someone returns my voicemail and email soon to sort it out. Luckily I have what I was ordering in an email so if there is any confusion it's not on my end.

Ah how annoying.

Mine arrived just now so will check out my ultra tonight.

sxz:

What are people getting from 2 degrees?  Is it the $900 trade in PLUS a $600 boost, or is the $600 boost part of the $900 trade in?

What they mean is they will pay a max of $300 for a second hand phone + $600 boost.  The best way to use this is to trade in the most worthless thing they sell.  I have a old iphone 7 that they will accept so I will trade that in for $650 and then sell my Note 20 ultra on trademe.  This is a better deal than getting $800 for the Note.  There are lots of conditions and they credit your account rather than giving you cash back.  Read carefully.

Since you asked.

This is a VERY big phone for my hands, also just got it 20 minutes ago so will be slowly setting it up through out the day.

Already a big difference from when I last had a Sammy (S20 Plus). Very much in love with it already.

Mine only got tracking number at 9.30pm last night, so on courier pick up today, so it will be due to be delivered right as the biggest storm this century is due to hit Auckland.

So might not get it for another week or so.

Judging by the wallpaper, you went for the lavender colour?

I have my 1TB version set up. Anyone with any questions I'm happy to answer if I can

Am also tempted to go for the 1TB version this time round.

I have the below questions please:

  • What's the haptic feedback/vibration motor like compared to S22U? It was pretty weak on the S22U and I'd miss calls and notifications
  • Battery life (which you probably can't answer after you have had it for a few days) vs S22U?

Haptic feedback on the S23U is quite lovely, can be adjusted, have it set to the strongest at the moment and it feels fantastic in the hand.

IT DOES however feel weak when just left on a desk mat.

Pretty good happiness feedback. Seems stronger than the S22U.

On battery life, I expect this to be even better than the S22U based on reviews. S22U already had some very good battery life so I'm not at all too worried.

For anyone setting up a new machine could they let us know data usage on the partitions prior to starting copying apps and data. I know the 60GB indicated earlier was incorrect, but for NZ variants, what is the actual numbers?

My wife wants one of these. She has small hands but I guess size does matter even if it is uncomfortable.

I'm not sure why but in the first few hours the S23U feels slightly lighter in the hand than the S22U despite it being only 5g lighter.

Felt the same when I went to check out the demo unit in store
