I note a couple of PBTechs Ultra bundles include a Qi2 magnetic charger and case and sometimes a wireless power bank.

Does the Ultra still have ‘normal’ wireless charging? And does that still work if you fit one of these cases? Or are you stuck with the magnetic wireless fast charger once it’s fitted?

Also, the S-Pen no longer has Bluetooth functionality (ie remote actions)?

I too would be keen on one of the unpack vouchers if anyone has one they are not going to use.

Cheers,

Pushing my luck as a first time post but if anyone happens to have a $150 voucher they are willing to give away I'm quite tempted to upgrade me S22 Ultra as the battery is giving up...

Cheers

Interesting you note the battery, I've also bought an S25 Ultra now and also noticed how much the battery has degraded in 3 years on the S22U.

Who/When will live display units be available to eyeball?

They were on display at costco yesterday evening.

Assume most places with Samsung phone displays will have them now.

Honestly there is not much to see in person. the S25 ultra no has a little rounding in the corners...

Major change vs the s24 series is the processer.

Entire series now gets snapdragon (8 Elite processors. on the S24 it was only the Ultra (Snapdragon 8 gen 3) in the NZ market (s24 and s24+ got the Exynos which was a touch slower and a lot less efficient).

www.reddit.com/r/samsung/comments/1i89vnm/snapdragon_8_elite_vs_gen_3_vs_gen_2_the_real/#:~:text=SD%208%20Elite%3A%2010-30,top%20of%20power%20efficiency%20improvements.

Summary: "SD 8 Elite: 10-30% faster but eats up to 45% more power under load. Heads up for Emulation/Gaming enthusiasts that will push the chip to its limits while killing your battery life."

- I assume the SD 8 Elite is fairly efficient (per processing done) under lower loads, but there is little data on this yet.

After looking at the feature set, is anyone else finding that outside of the chipset, this is a regression/revision of the S24U? I have a S23U and I can't think of a reason why I'd want to drop $800~ dollars to upgrade.

Anything I say is the ramblings of an ill informed, opinionated so-and-so, and not representative of any of my past, present or future employers, and is also probably best disregarded.

I have an S23 and am only upgrading because I like to keep my phones for 2 years max - I've found that things seem to go downhill quicker in that third year.

All the reviews of the S25 seem to agree that it's a minor upgrade this year, and I'm fine with that.

But if you're happy with your S23U then it will be fine for another year, plus it will get all the OneUI 7 features soon too.

For those that are asking for a code to save $150, it's been given away on their website when you login or before login as well.

Below is an example.
