What was the consensus of the 10, was it a lot better than the 9? The SoC performance didnt blow me away, I had snapdragon level hopes, but maybe the 11 will deliver now they have moved away from samsung?

The 9 pro for $999 is a smashing deal, missed that. I love my s25ultra but I am now considering a small form factor phone, 6.1" type size in Android. I thought the 9 would drop in local pricing like the 8 did after a few months of the 9 being on the market, but locally its still close the 10 pricing (pro model)

Pixel will not in the foreseeable future have snapdragon levels of performance. I read an article about how one of Google's goals is to make a decent profit on Pixels and keeping the CPU cost down helps with that. They focus on application performance, things that other phones don't do like very good voice recognition. Performance is generally good enough, but you definitely notice the different when you move to the latest Samsung.

If you want Snapdragon level performance... either... get a Snapdragon based handset... or get an iPhone.

Tensor will almost* never be that level and that's because Google wants efficiency... Which is a bit of a hyperbole considering some Snapdragon based devices do last longer, they do also tend to pack better modems (Tensor is still an Exynos in disguise... gotta love those Shannon modems 😉) and the fact that Qualcomm are not afraid to push those clocks.

I mean hell... the Adreno 829 that's in the Gen 5 is almost double the GFLOPS of the PowerVR DXT that's in the Pixel 10 (of course you can have all the GFLOPS in the world but if your drivers are trash then it will be trash).

*never say never... but who knows!

Good point, along with raising the prices over the last few models.

I have all the "nice" to have settings on my s25u turned off, ie animations, I could use them but I prefer the instant feel. I have the camera in Expert Raw mode modified via developer settings. It takes awesome photos if you have some basic photography knowledge (aperture, speed, iso etc)_, where the Pixel takes quite nice pics out of the box. So does the Iphone, the iPhone straight out of the box also takes the best videos of the lot.

The galaxy is definitely an amazing device at everything and has the performance to push it all, but I do like the size of a 6.1" phone. This is where I wish samsung would follow pixel and iphone offering both sizes in a "ultra" config.
