Am thinking of downloading Cerberus for my S4, been doing some google searching and the consensus seems to be that Cerberus is the leader of the security apps.
Keen to hear some opinions of others who are using it on their unit
Is it much of a battery drain?

Cerberus is great.  Doesn't drain battery at all.

My iPhone 4 is finally on the blink (randomly shuts down and have to open an unplug the battery to fix it). May be time to get a SIV. will wait for the i9506 and see if it will work here. 4g is not an issue as I'm in nelson

It looks nice but you could be waiting a while for it..

Sammobile

Some good pricing on the Galaxy Note 2 as 3 expected out same time as I9506 but has bigger screen.I considered the Note 2 but willk wait and see what the 3 is like.

The S4 is great but feel like a change.

Bacha: Anyone decided to update to 4.3 via custom rom yet?

tried one I can't remember but wasn't quite right so will  wait. I flashed bobcat rom last nights its MGA 4.2.2 and its very good, quite visual with a good theme but also another theme you can flash

Comes with an OTA app so you can do update direct or change a variety of things.  It has Wanam's Adam kernel which is very good for battery life, overall it runs very well and I'm quite impressed.

Bobcat Rom

edit: forgot to add, its Samsung based Rom so you don't lose any of the Samsung software  functionality you do with CM or the  current 4.3 Google Edition Roms

Love the toggle buttons. Look awesome. Might check it out over the weekend.

Just traded in my HTC One for the S4, loving it. Not sure what I bagged the phone in the first place lol. Screen, camera and feel are all fantastic.

been using the Bobcat Rom a couple of days now, last night I lost 4% in 9 hours so pretty impressed although I'm using Greenify app which helps. In the past I've tried roms that are heavily themed but they seem to lag a bit, could be because the themes are by someone else but in this Rom its done by the Dev.

Haven't used the HTC one for ant great length to get used to it but certainly looks nice and would think the speed etc is similar.

Be good to hear your thoughts on the Rom

Had a look through the ROM thread, due to the broken english it's a little hard to understand. Any chance you can advise on what I need to download to get it all running smooth and beautiful. Also it only "recommends" a full wipe. Reckon I can avoid doing it without any repercussions?

I'll assume you aren't Rooted (meant phone)
to root go here  it has the links for download including Odin and CF Root.

I would suggest whilst you have Odin open you use Philz  touch recovery and download from here go for the latest I9505 one with .tar extension and flash through Odin.

Follow instructions and when all ok I suggest a Nandroid backup, Philz allows you to backup to SD card which saves space, others probably do as well.

Download Rom of your choice to, in Bobcat says not to download direct to phone so assume he means to PC then copy to internal SD card.

Follow instructions to flash bbut would suggest you do a factory reset, in Philz you'll find an option for wiping for new Rom in recovery menu.

If all goes well you should have a nice pretty Phone. Oh there's also another theme further down the page for Bobcat, post number 2, download that to phone and just flash through recovery.

If you don't have it already Titanium backup is very good if you flash custom Roms as it makes it easy to restore apps and data.

Once phone up and running I'd delete the rom download from phone to save space.

I am rooted thankfully. First thing I do when I get the new phone. Have spent too much time in Paradise Island to lose it all every time I switch phones (monthly since January lol)

Cheers for that.

Just out of curiosity. How come factory reset is required every time you flash a rom? What does it do that not flashing doesnt?

I usually do it for first time on a new rom definately if going from Sammy Rom to AOSP or CM as it clears away any trace of previous system files so have no issues.

I also use Advanced recovery to restore data that works well but not sure its a good thing if changing to AOSP or CM but if you have backup its easy to change.

Have a look at Pacman as well its a mix of AOSP, Paranoid android and CM. it has some cool features like Holo but not the problems that Paranoid Android have What I've done is keep a backup of that and when I want to try a CM or AOSP I restore that backup and then just flash the Rom in question as it saves doing full wipe. Then the reverse if you want to go back to Sammy based Rom but try the advanced restore of data only.

I also have Nova Prime Launcher and once its restored via Titanium backup it restores my home screens back to normal.
