I noticed last evening that a number of Google Apps on my S10 plus had switched to dark mode including the Store. I was still on the August update at that time. My device updated to the September patch this morning. I haven't had a look at the camera changes yet.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Thanks Mike, so probably just a coincidence. I wonder if the dark mode part was part of google app updates since I last rebooted my phone. But didn’t take effect until the reboot associated with the update. Dark mode much nicer on an AMOLED display.

Interestingly I too find it much easier on the eyes on my AMOLED S10+ but I don't get on with it at all on my iPad Pro (Liquid Retina or whatever they call it).

Must be something to to with dimming Vs truly "off" pixels and the way it contrasts with the white text?

Do you factory reset after one of these updates? Or, is it massive hassle?

Haven't done so yet and can't see any reason to unless I was experiencing specific issues.

The updates usually clean things up and rebuild caches etc anyway.

Factory reset after installing major Android version is the recommendation. Minor updates I wouldn't bother.

I have to say that the S10+ so far is the most impressive Android phone I have ever owned. The software updates seem far more regular than before, the UI works very well and the phone overall is actually excellent.

The camera remains adequate for snaps or visual notes, not much more than that. However, no phone has a camera worthy of being used for much else IME so far - especially in bad light. Stick a 1" sensor in a phone and we might get somewhere.

Overall I am impressed but still on the fence as to whether I actually need a smartphone at all really. 90% of the time, my old Nokia 5110 and 8110 phones would be more than sufficient.

How many of you guys still have the original screen protector in place? Mine is quiet scuffed now, especially the spot where my thumb scrolls the screen. I have not bothered with screen protectors on my last 4 phones.

Mine fell off pretty quick. I have been running it without one now for a few weeks and have already picked up some surface marks which I think are more likely on the oleophobic coating than the glass.

Mine is still excellent which is surprising because I expected it to be folding at the edges within a month.

Mine has a billion micro-scratches but is otherwise alright.

A have new protectors but can't be arsed putting them on at the moment.

I'm still using the original, even though it has a couple of noticeable scuffs/scratches.

When looking for recommendations about replacements, they all seem to have mixed reviews/comments.

I heard places like Harvey Norman or Noel Leeming can install the screen protector too. I may give that a try one day.

Can any of you S10 people confirm if ok google detection works with the screen off and locked?  I assume you have to turn voice unlock on for it to work with the screen locked.  I know this has been an issue on some samsung models in the past so would like to confirm it works before telling my sister to jump ship from ios to android.  She is all about the ok google so it's important that this works.
